“Our female became air?” Tank asked, staring off into the distance.
“Yeah, fucking air. She’s awesome, and I’m so going to spank her ass when we get her back.” Link was looking off in the distance as he spoke as well. Abe didn’t say anything. His heart was hurting, and his wolf, the mangy beast, was angry and not talking to him.
And he felt bigger. Abe tried to connect to Aztec, his wolf, only to come up against a wall. He stared at the other two, wondering if his brothers could talk to theirs wolfs.
“Titan has gone AWOL on me,” Tank growled.
“Ludwig is pissed and said we are all dumbasses. He said one of them had to keep the dickheads together, which is the only reason he’s talking to me. I’m assuming he means us three.”
“At least one of us has a link to our wolves. I’m too freaked out to try and shift. If we can’t talk to them, does that mean they’re like wolf-blocking us too?” Abe asked. The threat of their wolves holding shifting over their heads didn’t sit well with him.
Tank shook his head, shifting into his big beast of a wolf and then back to human in seconds. “No, I can shift. I would bet you both can as well. Remember, we only met our wolves a short time ago. I think its fucking bullshit they’re being dicks. Please convey that to Ludwig.”
“Duly noted. I think he can track her though.” Link let his wolf out, the animal growing larger than ever before.
“Tank, he’s nearly as big as you in your Lycan form. I felt like my wolf was bigger too. I wonder if it has something to do with us all bonding with Nita.” Abe stared into his twin brother’s wolven eyes. “Do you think we can still form our Lycan like before?”
Ludwig shook his head, making Abe rear back. ‘We are Lycan as one now. We don’t need to blend together anymore. This is the way we were meant to be to fight what is to come,’ the beasts voice rumbled into Abe’s mind.
He wasn’t sure if he was happy or sad to lose the bond he and Link had formed when they became one huge beast. Of course, they still had their own minds when they were one. They’d been morphing into their beast since childhood. Could they be the ones who prevented their own individual Lycan’s?
“Ludwig, can you lead us to Nita, or at least in the direction you think she went?” Tank asked.
Link’s wolf gave a nod and waited for Abe and Link to shift. As his body became that of his wolf, Abe held his sigh inside when he and Link were shoulder-to-shoulder. Tank stepped next to him, his shoulder only slightly higher, which meant they truly were the largest three wolves in the pack, largest they’d ever seen. ‘Let’s go before anyone sees us and freaks out. We’ll explain to the alpha when we return.’
‘My dad will be fine with this revelation. The new pack members are the ones who will be wary. We’ll deal with what will be after we secure our female.’ Tank took off like a shot after Link, leaving Abe to follow. He made a sweep of their tracks so they couldn’t be followed, easily catching up with his Lycan brothers.
Their Lycans were fast and huge, taking them farther from the security of the trailer park and the towns they were familiar with. Hours passed by in a blur as they did their best to keep to the heavily forested areas until night fell, making it harder for humans to see them. There had been a couple of times when the sun had been shining that Abe had feared they’d be seen, but it had been as if the Moon Goddess had been watching over them, keeping them safe.
Four hours later, the wolves came to a lumbering halt by a creek with the cleanest rushing water Abe had ever seen. They stopped and let their animals take long drinks, one at a time, keeping their ears open for danger. He wondered if their Lycans had caught Nita’s scent since he wasn’t able to. He’d give anything for a hint of her sexy little ass or her sweet nectar that he was already addicted to.
Tank’s head came up out of the water, going still. He and Link followed suit, unsure what had rattled the other male.
‘In the wind, I smell the females from before,’ Tank growled through their link.
‘Do they have Nita?’ Abe would kill them all if one hair on her head had been harmed.
Tank gave a slight shake of his head, easing back toward the tree line they’d come from. He and Link stepped carefully, their huge wolves careful not to make too much of a stir as they worked their way to cover. Not that they could get the other creatures to begin moving and acting normal, as if three huge predators hadn’t just sent them into silence. Shit.
