Abe’s shoulder bumped his, their beasts getting closer to the surface. If they were to merge right in the middle of the arena and not in the heat of battle, he wasn’t sure what Hurricane, and the others would say or do. Fuck, most of their pack hadn’t truly seen their Lycan, not theirs and not Tank’s Lycan. He couldn’t imagine how they’d handle seeing two huge wolven beasts, one of which comprised of him and Link together under the bright light of the moon. How would they react was certainly a question they didn’t need to fucking deal with right then. They had crazy bitches from the bayou with bad intentions stalking them. If their own pack was to turn against the three of them and their mate, shit would go bad really damn quick.

“We need to calm down. My Lycan is growling and clawing at my insides, telling me he needs to be released so he can protect our family. Nita, are you alright?” Tank stared down at their female.

Nita rubbed his chest with one hand while she stayed between Abe and Link, her body staying in contact with all her males. “I’m fine. I think we should go home and get away from everyone else for a while.”

Link took a deep breath, reaching for Nita’s hand. “Sounds like a brilliant plan. You coming, Tank?”

Their best friend inhaled and nodded, his eyes staring at Nita. Link got it. Their female was their rock, their center, the one thing that could ground them, and was the reason they were complete.

For long seconds, they stood in their own little world, blocking out the others until the sound of heavy footfalls interrupted their quiet reprieve. Link looked behind Tank to see Brock coming toward them, the usually bright alpha eyes not so bright.

“Good evening, Alpha. We were just getting ready to head home and get our mate settled. She was integral in seeing the last of us back here with Bakra,” Link said, working to keep the angry growl out of his tone.

“I heard. Are all of you alright?” Brock stopped next to his son, placing his hand on Tank’s shoulder.

“We’re fine. I think we’re going to have to step up patrols and call on Zeus for some Raven help. The fact we had such a response inside a protected venue is disturbing.” Tank spoke to his father as if it was a done deal. He was going to be a great alpha one day.

Brock nodded while he looked around the arena. Most of the wolves had already left, heading to their homes with an order to stay inside the territory.

Link stretched his senses out, pressing his abilities further than he’d done before. The feel of Abe following him through their twin path gave him strength to go farther. He pressed until they were over the area where Nita had called home her first years of life. Although they’d done all they could to clear the grounds, he could feel the core of evil roiling through the soil. He made his way back to his body, ensuring Abe came with him. They’d become adept at splitting their conscience into two and being able to focus and be present, so nobody was aware they had slipped away.

“See anything we need to worry about?” Brock asked, his shrewd attention didn’t miss anything.

Link shook his head, then nodded. “We need to have the land Seamus claimed cleansed. I sensed evil and something more permeating the air and the soil.”

Their alpha looked off in the direction where the land was. Although it was some distance, Link didn’t doubt that Brock could weave his way there through the air like he had.

“Go home. We will deal with this in the morning.” Brock turned and strode away without saying goodbye.

“He’s stressed out and worried about our pack and Hurricane and Honor. Their mother’s recounting of the relationship between him and her wasn’t anything like his recollection. He had never had a third he wanted to add to their bond. My father wants to speak with their mother, not because he has feelings for her, but to clear things up. However Lorna would be upset. He said he thinks it’s the only way his oldest two children will let go of the grudge they’re holding against him. He’s opened his mind to them, allowing each to see what had transpired all those years ago. I saw as well even though I didn’t need to in order to believe him. There was never any doubt that my dad wasn’t the bastard they’d claimed. Yet for all his openness, both Hurricane and Honor are still weary.” Tank sighed, his shoulders sagging.

“Hey, we can’t make others feel something they don’t, remember. Nor can we change their minds when they don’t want to believe what’s right there in their faces. Come on, let’s go home and be with our female. Everyone and everything else can wait.” Link tugged on the hand he held of Nita’s, pulling her around. He nearly laughed at Abe when he gave a low growl before snagging Nita’s other hand.

“Hey, fuckers, what about me?” Tank called from behind them.

“You snooze you lose, bro,” Abe called.

Link gazed over his shoulder, shaking his head. He saw the challenge in Tank’s blue eyes. “Don’t do it, Tank.”

Tank grinned. He rubbed his hands together so fast and hard the friction he created sounded like he could build a fire or like he had two pieces of sandpaper rubbing together.

“Abe, we better run. Nita, you ready, mi dušo?” Link didn’t wait for them to answer before taking off, holding Nita’s hand in his. His brother kept up with him as did Nita, the three of them laughing when they heard Tank give a mock growl behind them.

“No fair, three against one,” Tank muttered.

“That’s what she said,” Nita retorted with a laugh.

Link and Abe grabbed their female under her arms, launching the three of them onto their porch, skipping the steps so that they landed in front of the door. They were inside and still laughing when Tank came in, his laughter following them to the huge master suite.

“Rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to undress her?” Tank asked.

Nita hopped onto the bed, jumping into the center. “Nope, I want to see all three of you get nekkid for me. How about you take off a piece, and I’ll take off a piece?”

Link lifted a brow at her sassy little show. Fuck if he didn’t love her idea though. “Sounds like a solid plan. So if you take off a shirt we take off one too?”

“Oh, now that is smart, bro. Set the rules out, so we don’t fuck up,” Abe said with a nod.

Nita’s eyes sparkled with merriment. “Okay.”
