Page 80 of Nita's Redemption

Finally she saw a huge vehicle with dozens of windows down each side. She searched her mind for what kind of moving contraption she was seeing when it hit her. These females were driving a damn bus, only not a yellow one that kids rode in. No, this one reminded her of one she’d seen in an action movie that carried prisoners to and from prison camps. Of course, the movie she’d been watching had said bus being highjacked. She thought of trying to do that with the one in front of her but tossed that aside since she couldn’t see how many crazy bitches were inside. ‘Ah, Nita, we gots problems.’

‘Oh my gawd, you’re alive. Thank you, Zeus. Where are you, and why didn’t you take someone with you?’ Nita fired the questions at her.

‘Let’s just stick to what’s important right now. I’m about five miles outside of town. The scary chicks from your family are here in a white bus like prisons use, not schools. I didn’t take anyone ’ cause I’m air, and well, your wolfies are cute and sexy but they can’t become air. If I’d have taken you and you became air, your males would’ve shart themselves, and then we’d have had to get defibrillators and, see where I’m going with this? Soo, anyhoo, that’s the shituation.’

‘Bakra, get your ass back here unless you need to zap to Olympus. Do we need Zeus? Shit, we should head back to the pack. If we shift we can cover the distance a lot faster.’ Link’s voice came through their connection.

‘Oh, you brought your males into our link. Good female. Don’t shift and don’t leave there. I’m coming to you in three, two, one.’ She counted out loud.

SHE APPEARED IN THE room looking slightly pale. Link watched Nita rush to her friend. His fist ached to punch the walls. Hurricane and Tank were across the room while Abe stood next to him. It seemed all of them were watching their female the same as him.

“How did we fall so hard so quick?” he asked his twin.

Abe took a deep breath, his body as stiff as his. “Fuck if I know, but I’d give my life for her.”

Link nodded. “Yeah, me too. I swear it’s like I wasn’t living until her. It’s fucked up since I hadn’t felt like I wasn’t happy. Hell, we had so much fun playing games, running through the forests and just being dumbasses.”

His twin grinned over at him. “Hey, I was never a dumbass.”

Link shoved his shoulder with his. “There are eight of us left plus Bakra. She looks worn out. Do you think she’ll be able to flash us all home at once or need to do it in a couple of smaller turns? Hell, maybe she won’t be able to do it at all.”

The thought they’d have to hoof it on all fours wasn’t scary to him, but he worried for his mate and the other females with them. Although each female were alphas in their own rights, he was sure they could handle themselves, but he hated to take any risks with their lives.

Bakra lifted her head, meeting his knowing stare. “Okie dokie, wolfies. I just needed to catch my breath. Do you have any idea how hard it is to go from this?” she asked, waving her hand down her body. “To the little particles that flow with the air current?”

Hurricane stepped closer to her, raising her chin up so he could look into her face. “If you are not at full strength, we will run back to the pack territory. I will not put you in further danger by making you work harder than you already have.”

The growl with each word he spoke sent a shiver down Link’s spine.

Fuck, was Bakra Hurricane’s truemate? If so, how had the male hidden his feelings from all of them. And if she is, could Bakra not feel the bond? Shit so many damn questions with answers he didn’t have.

Bakra placed her hand over Hurricane’s. “I’m stronger than you think, male. Less go,” she said, stepping away from the alpha doing that finger swirl as she pronounced the word without using a t at the end. She sure did like to make a scene, and shit, his female was very close to the demoness.

“Can I just say I love the way you say less instead of lets. Your finger twirl is like the cherry on top, Bakra. However, I’ve been flashing for a while now. Mind you, I’ve never taken another along with me like you’re doing but after watching you I think I can too. Let me help you transport everyone from here so it’s not such a pull on you. PS. Don’t give me that ‘bish I will cut you look’, it don’t work on me. So, less goo,” Nita crowed, mimicking Bakra’s finger twirl.

Link saw the way Tank’s big brother’s eyes flared as he looked at Bakra. He felt the rise of heat in the air just before they were all whisked away by Bakra with the help of their female Nita. The two females were definitely the resident tornadoes. Nita’s laughter rang out in his head.

‘Ah, you are such a good mate. I thought I was the trailer park queen tornado. Good to hear you’re including Bakra,’ Nita said through their spiral path.

They materialized inside the arena where everyone else was still standing around chatting, with Brock standing on the raised dais area where he usually was during training. His usually open expression looked closed, angry. Shite, he was hoping they could pop home and get to loving on their female.

Brock’s eyes flashed bright blue, going to their group, and settling on Bakra and Nita. “Bakra, thank you for getting the pack out of there safely. We are indebted to you, yet again.”

Bakra gave a curtsy. “No thanks needed. Besides, NitaB helped get this last group back. Too much alphaness for little ole me. So, yeah, you’re welcome. Now, I’ll just be going. See ya.”

Link could see Brock wanted to order her to stay. The alpha had his mouth opened probably to issue her to halt, but like the wind, Bakra was gone.

Nita blew out a breath. “She doesn’t like to be the focus of attention, you know. I’m sure she’ll be back if and when we need her, or if she wants to.”

Brock let out a deep growl. The hair on his Link’s arms stood on end, making his wolf push forward. He moved closer to where Abe and Nita stood. There was no mistaking his twin’s wolf was also close. Both of their beasts were searching for each other’s Lycan form, as if they wanted to merge into their singular Lycan form.

Tank launched himself the distance that separated them, leaving Hurricane on edge. He stood in a group with his sister and the others with his eyes glowing.

“What is it?” he asked Link and Abe.

Abe shook his head, obviously unaware what was making Link antsy.

Link nudged his head to where Brock was glaring at them. “He looks like he wants to rip our collective heads off, bro.”
