‘Who likes normal anyhow? How many other shifters combine into one like you two?’ Tank asked through their link.

Abe snorted, silently agreeing. They had never seen or heard of any others who did as they did. There were a lot of twins in the shifter world, but they were certainly an anomaly. Hell, even Zeus was stumped as to how and why they had the ability.

‘Maybe the answer lies inside of us, and that’s why we were blessed with a female as great as Nita.’ Link’s words settled into his psyche. Abe and his twin had always shared similar thoughts and actions. It didn’t surprise him when it came to their mate they’d figured they would have the same female.

‘You know when we became best friends you were like our brother from another. It was like you were a missing piece to our puzzle.’ Abe felt like he needed to reassure the other male.

‘Thanks, Abe. I always felt like you two were my brothers.’ Tank flashed them a wicked grin.

For the next several weeks, the four of them explored every inch of their borders with the other pack members including the Shadow Ravens, and at night they made love to their female, together and separately. There were times that they snuck away with Nita to be with her one-on-one, creating stronger bonds with her that solidified their love. Each moment was ingrained in Abe’s mind, a memory he could look back on at any time if he ever felt the need. Not that he didn’t have the pleasure of the real thing in front of him, but they all were aware that there might come a time where one or two of them would be called away for a time.

Abe strolled past the community center that had been enlarged over the last couple months. The sound of laughter and music could be heard from inside. He waved at several males going toward the entrance. Since the day Nita handed Ziggy his ass, all eleven new shifters blended in with their pack seamlessly. Abe and the others had learned a lot from Hurricane’s crew. Their senses had been honed differently due to where they’d grown up. Although Brock had been the alpha for years now, they’d had Seamus who shunned many of the old ways, which the Shadow Ravens were very adept at.

“Does it anger you how close Hurricane and your father appear to be?” Abe asked Tank. He’d noticed the slight flinches his friend had made when he’d seen his father hug the other male. Abe wondered if it had anything to do with being Brock’s son and had always felt like he was next in line to be alpha, and now that was being threatened thanks to Hurricane and Honor arriving.

Tank let out a heavy breath. “How about we shelve the deep talk until later. I want that pizza and beer. Besides I think you owe me a game of pool since you two cheated the last time we played.”

“I think we should go into town and get some pizza. Maybe play some pool and drink some beer,” Abe said the moment he walked into their home.

LINK HEARD THE OTHER males arguing over pool and pizza from the back of the house where he and Nita had been taking a nap. Only sleeping had been taking place since they’d run for hours earlier with the other pack. “Should we go rescue them from their stupidity or stay here and snuggle?” he asked Nita.

“Your snuggling will become fucking. Of course I’m totally on board with that too.” She shifted around so that she was facing him, her sweet smile beckoning him to do more than talk.

“We can hear you two in there. Get your asses up and get ready so we can get food and drink before we all starve to death,” Tank said, his booming voice echoing down the hall.

Link dropped onto his back, throwing an arm over his eyes. “I thought this room was soundproof dammit.”

“Oh it is, I just happened to be at the door when you started speaking. Now come on, loser. We got things to do, and it isn’t our mate. Mind you, I wouldn’t be opposed to that except I can hear her stomach growling.” Tank bent and lifted Nita off the bed.

“You know you’re always carrying her around like she’s some prize,” Link muttered.

“I like having her in my arms. I’m smart.”

Link couldn’t deny what the other male said. “Fuck, I need to step up my game.”

Nita shimmied out of Tank’s arms, making a beeline for the bathroom. “Gimmee ten minutes to wash up and change,” she said, making them both shake their heads.

“I’ll use the bathroom down the hall.” Link gestured toward his nearly naked self. They’d come in and collapsed after a quick shower, barely pulled on briefs before he’d fallen asleep next to a sleeping Nita. Now he wished he’d taken the time to make love to her. Next time, he promised himself.

True to her word, their female waltzed out of the bedroom in nine minutes, dressed and smelling fresh and sexy as fuck.

“Let’s go. I’m starving and do not even think about accosting me until I’ve had copious amounts of pizza and beer. I heard they added stuffed crust to the menu. That’s a lotta cheese, and you know mama loves her cheese.” Nita motioned with her right hand in the air, swirling her finger in circles.

“Alright, I’m ready.” Link clapped his hands together. He was the first at the door next to Nita, licking his lips as he eyed her cleavage in the white tank top that gave a peak-a-boo look at her black, lacy bra. Fuck, he was sure they’d be fighting off humans who were too stupid to realize they were in the midst of apex predators. If the females who’d come looking for her were out there, they’d deal with them.

“Do you think there’s a connection?”

Link squeezed his eyes shut, wishing Nita hadn’t heard his thoughts.

“Fuck, I think we all agree that you’re possibly a target for some reason that none of us are aware of.” Abe muttered.

“However, tonight is not about that. It’s about us.” Tank growled with finality.

They dropped the conversation, intent on enjoying their night.

“I need money for the jukebox,” Nita announced the moment they got into the large SUV.

Link looked at the hand she was holding toward Tank. The male jumped in the driver’s seat, leaving him and Abe to take the middle since Nita had hopped into the front passenger. “Since Tank’s the driver he has to cough up the cash,” Link said, laughing at the scowl his best buddy aimed at him through the rearview mirror.
