“You are such a perv, but I like it. I hate to disillusion you though. We didn’t do anything like that. Over time, they gave me a part of them so that I would stop aging on Olympus. Their blood sort of pooled in me and formed this essence that allows me to do extraordinary things shifters can’t. It’s why I can go to Olympus and most shifters cannot.” She wasn’t sure exactly what the essence was or wasn’t only that it was now a part of her.
“Does Zeus know?” Tank asked, moving the twins apart so he could look down at her.
Nita grinned, thinking about the big God and his all-knowing attitude. “I would have to say he does in fact know. That is a male who doesn’t miss a thing. He’s never said anything, but he has touched my forehead several times and smiled. That is where the essence resides within me. So yeah, I think he’s aware, and he approves.”
“Are you or any of us in danger with that inside you?” Tank asked.
She licked her lips, wondering if her males would be scared of her and regret mating her.
Tank pulled her against him. “You have no fear of any of us ever wishing we were not mated to you. Our lives became complete the moment we found you, mated you, and knew that you love us equally.”
“To answer your question, I am like ninety nine point nine nine percent positive none of us are in danger of what I was given. Mind you, I believe that should I be in danger all bets would be off.” She held her breath, waiting to see if that was a deal breaker for the three males.
“Good. We need to know that you will always be protected by all means regardless of who is trying to harm you. If we aren’t there to ensure your safety then the added protection from the demoness females eases our minds.” Tank gripped her by the waist, bringing her up to his height. “No more secrets, mi sreco. If you have worries you speak to us, and we’ll ease them. We are one, the four of us. If you don’t talk things over with one or all of us, it can cause a crack in our foundation. There’s nothing you can say or do that will make us stop loving and wanting you.”
She let out a sob. She was filled with their emotions and her love for them. “I promise not to keep anything from you, even the things that I don’t want to remember.”
Tank covered her lips with his, silencing her.
Nita heard them tell her they understood inside her mind.
“Yo, you three gonna stand there and smooch all day, or we gonna get this shit show on the road?”
Tank released Nita at the sound of the male’s taunting words. Nita glared at Lars and Ziggy, happy to see neither were battling to hold their wolves inside.
Chapter Nineteen
THERE WERE TIMES THAT Abe really wanted to rip the face off of an idiot. One of those times happened to be right then and there with the two males who had made their female shaky. He did his best to keep centered so that he followed the rules of not killing, maiming, and the other shit set forth by their alpha.
“You boys okay?” Lorna asked.
They all grunted, which was about the extent of their ability to converse properly. Nita sent a pointy elbow into his side. From the slight oomph that came from Tank, she must’ve done the same to his brother.
The next few hours went by in a blur as shifters came and went inside the center. Abe had to admit he was proud of their pack and the ability they showcased. Finally it was Nita’s turn to enter the center. Her wolf was larger than most with a shiny black coat and huge paws that kicked up dust with each step she made. The female from Hurricane’s pack was smaller, and her scent of fear increased the closer Nita got to her. The tawny wolf slunk backward, making several of her packmates growl. Nita stopped moving, eyeing the other wolves.
Abe was pretty sure the female’s name was Avalon. She turned her head, exposing her throat. Didn’t she understand that Nita wouldn’t hurt her?
