“Once we get home, we’ll figure this out. We’re family,” Link reminded her.

Nita nodded.

“Don’t,” Abe said firmly. “Don’t shut us out. We know you suffered shit none of us could fathom. Fuck, I saw it in your memories. One day I’ll take the time to sit and exam each one like you deserve me to do. For now, we need you to let us take care of you.”

Nita shivered and stepped closer to Abe. Her eyes closed as his arms wrapped around her. “Why do you want to do that?”

“Because you went through it, and I want you to heal, but in order for me, for us to truly know what it is you’re talking about, my way of processing is to experience it. I may not be able to go back in time, but through our bond, it’s almost as if I were there. From there, I hope I can help you heal.” Abe rubbed his nose against hers.

“It’s okay if you never want to talk about it. Like my brother said, we are all connected and have different ways of processing things. I will be with him as he processes and ease his edges, so his wolf won’t go feral. You’re our mate. Knowing that you’d gone through unimaginable horrors, and still, you came out the other side not just whole but this amazing female. It’s made my wolf go full on protection mode. It’s how we work.” Link palmed the back of her head with his big hand, leaned down, and kissed her.

Nita loved the fact nobody thought it weird she had three truemates. Her heart began to race with need. Link pulled back, his eyes shifting from blue to amber. The twins were the only two males she knew who had the alpha blue and amber eyes other than Tank. Now that they were aware of what a lycan was, she wanted to ask their wolves if that was due to their lycanthropes.

‘Let’s go. I feel eyes upon us, and my wolf doesn’t like it,’ Ludwig’s deep growl sounded through their bond.

‘Who is it?’ Abe asked his brother’s wolf.

‘I do not know. They are not from our pack. I don’t sense any misdeeds aimed at us, but it’s a feminine energy. Shifter,’ Ludwig said.

There were a few females who’d come with Hurricane. ‘Maybe he has patrols walking the perimeter, or the she-wolf is nosy?’ she asked the males, but Ludwig didn’t say any more.

By the time they reached their home, which they’d taken the long and scenic route trying to sus out the female who had dropped back altogether, Tank still hadn’t returned. Nita made love to Abe and Link together. She wasn’t sure how it would be without Tank, but Goddess, she had no thoughts for anything or anyone once they’d begun kissing and caressing every inch of her.

She fell into a deep, blissful sleep after a long soak in the tub with two of her mates surrounding her. Her heart ached for the missing piece to their bond, sending out a golden thread until it found him outside their home.

Chapter Sixteen

HE NEARLY GROANED AT his own stupidity the moment her bond reached for him. A deep sigh escaped his tight throat as he took the first step onto the huge wrap-around porch. None of them were into the whole Better Homes and Gardens shit, but they’d seen Nita’s eyes light up at the other pack homes with huge porches. They’d all agreed they wanted their place to be exactly what their female would love so they’d asked Zeus to create not only a wraparound porch, but all things comfy and airy, like their Nita.

“You gonna destroy her like your old man did my maman?”

The deep voice coming from the dark didn’t surprise him. Tank’s wolf had been alerted moments before he’d spoken. “Since I never got to meet her, can’t say. She still alive?”

Hurricane was a foot from Tank in seconds, his snarl rattling the huge tree they’d moved their home by due to the fact they’d wanted a tire swing for Nita and maybe a little Nita look alike one day. If the fucking prick fucked up their tree with his mantrum, Tank would kick his ass.

“Do you dare to speak about my maman?” Hurricane appeared to be having a hard time controlling his beast. Not a good thing for an alpha.
