Nita nodded.

“When Selena was a teen, she saved Tamara from an assault that nearly cost her life. This created a bond that the two still have to this day. However, Tamara and her family are not ordinary humans, which I have known for a long time. It was why she was able to bond with my Ravens, the same as Jaklyn and Kira. Humans can’t withstand what happens during the bond, their bodies too frail. I hadn’t considered that when I sent my Ravens here to find their truemate.” He wasn’t one to admit he was wrong. However, he wasn’t actually wrong. They did and could find their one true love on Earth. They just happened to be a little harder to find. He shrugged his massive shoulders, easing the tension from the weight of his almost error from them.

“Ok, but what does that have to do with Nita or any of us? She is a shifter as are we?” Tank asked, his hands resting on Nita’s shoulders.

“Well, that is almost correct. You see, Nita’s origins are different than any of us were aware of. In the beginning, everyone thought she was the daughter of a male named Jimmy. He had enough good left in him to ask Tank’s father to protect his daughter when the battle broke out. The other pack was tainted with evil due to Seamus’s need for power, all except Nita the child Jimmy had said was his.

“However, when the Ravens found her nearly starved and chained outside the alpha’s trailer, it became apparent he was her—Seamus was not only the father to Jaklyn but Nita too.” Zeus stared at the tiny little female who captured the heart of all his people on Olympus.

“Zeus, I need you to quit talking in circles and spit it out. Am I like half demonoid or something equally awful? Am I the reason the pack was tainted and why I was left to starve outside the first half of my life? Did I do something to hurt Bakra earlier?” Tears choked her voice.

He shook his head. “Goddess no, Nita.”

He got up from his chair, reappearing in front of where the foursome still stood. “Tamara’s brothers have found a link to your mother and you and the males who arrived this evening. They believe that the females who arrived the other day have a connection to you as well. Tamara wanted to come but after what happened with Bakra, her males didn’t feel it was safe for her in her condition.”

Nita covered her mouth with one hand. “I’m so excited she’s having a baby, or two.”

Zeus gave a nod, smiling as he thought of the child running around with his grandchildren. “Yes, and from what she says, she’s only having one crotch goblin.”

“Oh my Goddess, I can totally hear her saying that.”

“It took some convincing to get her to stay put until her brothers do some recon, their word by the way. I believe there is more going on than we first thought when we initially heard of the females and you running into one another in town. I have placed more protection around the pack lands, wards that should keep any and all from being able to trespass onto the lands. But that comes with its own issues as well. If they’re tapping into evil from a source that is opposite of my powers...I’m not sure what will happen. I have safeguards put in place to keep the opposing powers from imploding with mine.” He wasn’t admitting to a weakness. Just the opposite. His power was all mighty and could literally destroy Earth if triggered by another superpower.

‘You’re so modest, my love,’ Hera said, chuckling at his growl.

“There’s someone with the ability to make your powers go boom?” Link asked, making the sound of an explosion and motion with his hands at the same time.

“I am all powerful, but just as it is with the male we don’t speak of, there are those who rule other realms with power and abilities humans could never fathom. We do not trespass upon one another for that reason. Earth...is one of many worlds that does not have a clear-cut ruler. It was why I was able to send my Ravens here. There are many different walks of life upon Earth that are not human. Balance is kept here by us Gods not taking up permanent residence. I know you’re wondering how it was my daughter was able to live on Earth for so long, and the answer is simple actually. You see, my Selena is an exception as are my Ravens. Selena was just born on Olympus. A Goddess born will go through a ceremony days after their birth, giving them their natural powers. However, she was stolen before the sacred ceremony and, as you all know, placed on Earth, leaving her nearly human. My Ravens had been and are Demi-Gods, which made them perfect to defeat my father. I knew they had to be special, and not like the Gods on Olympus. It’s also why many others fear me.”

“Well, that is a lot to take in. Do you have any clue if there is such a being working with the females, or do you think that the males we have on our lands are actually the ones who we should be looking at as traitors?” Tank asked, his eyes flashed bright blue then amber.

Zeus titled his head to the side.

“Now I see it. You and your father are Lycans,” Zeus said, dropping the word into the room.

Tank stood straight, removing his hands from Nita. “What the fuck are you talking about?”

Raising his hand, Zeus stilled the movements of all in the room. “I need to finish filling you all in with what is happening around you, then we will circle back to your origins as well. This is quite interesting indeed. I sense no deceit or knowledge within you.”

Bright amber flared from the alpha male, but Zeus didn’t allow the big beast free. If Tank was a Lycanthrope, that meant his father had to be as well, since females usually were not. He sent the information to his Ravens, requesting them to come to where he was. Oh, he wasn’t scared for his own safety, but if Tank had been unaware of his own strength and the being within him, he wondered if his new-found wolf was also as unaware.

‘I am Titan. I am aware of what we are. I have protected all of us and will continue even if it is against one such as you.’

‘So, you with the amber eyes, are the one in charge?’ Zeus asked. Knowledge was always good.

‘We are a team. Tank has always been formidable, but I was locked behind a veil until recently. Thanks to the Goddess, he still could access my abilities even when I wasn’t able to have a voice. Are you friend or foe, God?’

‘I am friend. As a lycanthrope, I assume your God is Fenris?’ By the way, both Selene and Fenris are friends of mine as well.’ Zeus was testing boundaries. The other God wasn’t on Earth either, but he too had beings here like Zeus’s Ravens. Selene had created the shifters, but Fenris had gifted some with his Lycan. To do so, he and Selene would’ve had to worked together.

‘Fenris hasn’t spoken to us in many years.’ The words came out an angry snarl.

‘Maybe that had something to do with the block between shifter and human?’ Zeus could tell his words eased the Lycan’s anger.

‘I believe there was dissent among Fenris and Selene. The two appeared to have battled and for one reason or another they agreed to abandon their creations until the time that we could come forward. Mind you, I am unable to contact either of them, but I still feel the connection and with that I have advanced senses. For example I can sense you mean us no harm. Make no mistake, God, I protect what is mine, and they are mine.’ Tank opened his arms wide, encompassing the other three in front of him.

Zeus gave a nod of acknowledgement. ‘That makes a sort of sense. Will you allow Tank to come forward so we may continue speaking with the others?’ Zeus was sure that Titan believed what he said, but he had reason to think there was more to it than that. With both the God and Goddess being in hibernation of a sort, Zeus feared the two could be in danger themselves.

A heartbeat passed before Tank’s eyes turned back to alpha blue.
