“Yeah, thanks for the chair.” Abe lifted his remote. At least, that was where it should be.

“You’re welcome. But I meant for the flying F-bombs in your mind.” Zeus poked two of his fingers toward his eyes, then pointed them toward Abe.

Abe was sure his mouth was open so wide he’d have caught flies if he’d been outside, and there’d been a dead carcass, probably his but fuck. How did the asshole have access to all of his secret business, dammit?

Zeus spun the recliner around to face Abe, resting his forearms on his knees. Abe lost his train of thought when he noticed what the God was wearing.

“Ah, Zeus. What the ever loving fuck are you wearing?” Abe asked, raising his hand like a kid in school.

“My sweet granddaughter said this was in style. She said her favorite hero wears these, so I needed to on occasion.”

Abe eyed Tank who was miming a zipped mouth. Fucker.

“Ah, did she say who that was or tell you what those were called?” Abe tried to keep from laughing.

Zeus’s bright eyes started to swirl silver. “Boy, my granddaughter is an angel. She likes them, I like them. Period. If you want, I can outfit you in them as well.”

Abe lifted his hand, stalling the male. “Nope. You can wear jorts all you like for however long you like. Just like John Cena, who I’m sure is the male your granddaughter is referring to.”

Zeus nodded. “That is the name she gave me. I do not know what he has done, but I will need to look him up if he is a hero.”

Tank began choking on the beer he was drinking, foam going down his chin to land on his chest. Ha.

“Sir, he’s not a hero like your males but rather a movie star on the screen. However, if my memory serves me correctly, he has been recognized as giving the most money to a charity called Make A Wish Foundation.” Abe didn’t want Zeus or his granddaughter to think her hero wasn’t an amazing male.

Zeus nodded. “I shall find this charity and donate in his name as well.”

From the corner of his eye, he watched Tank wiping the spilled beer off with a flick of his hand. He lifted his own beer out of the cooler next to his chair. They’d been playing the same games with Zeus for years, which meant the God knew all about them and seemed to enjoy their weirdness.

For the next few hours, they played video games, each male winning and losing in equal measures. Although the beer had come and gone, none were tipsy, thanks to their shifter metabolism, and Zeus... it had to be a God thing. The male never got intoxicated.

“Oh, I can get drunk, but earth liquor could never do so.”

Zeus’s words reminded Abe the male heard every word they thought. “Does it get exhausting?”

The God set his controller down. They’d finished their final game a few minutes earlier and had agreed to rematch another day.

Again, Zeus turned to face Abe and Tank, leveling them with his laser focus. He steepled his fingers together under his chin, seeming to think before answering.

“I do not always listen into everyone’s thoughts. Well, mostly I do not. I came here to see the four of you for that intention you see. Tonight wasn’t just a social call. Nita is very special to me and my family.” He held up one huge palm, stalling them. “I’m aware you all have bonded, as you should. However, my female worries, you know? She instructed me that I should be more... hands on and use kid gloves but not actual gloves. Hera, is a much more gentle soul than I, which is as it should be.” Zeus looked toward the hallway. “Come and join us, you two.”

Zeus made a sweeping motion with his arm, cleaning the mess they’d made for the past few hours. Bottles of beer and snacks gone in a flash.

Nita and Link walked out of their bedroom looking fresh and clean, well-rested.

Abe and Tank stood at the same time, the same worry worming through him etched on the larger male’s face. “How’d you two sleep?” he asked.

Nita came to him, giving him a quick kiss. “I slept well except I was a little lonely without a couple males. Thank you for taking care of me... after.” She moved on to give Tank a small peck before going to Zeus for a hug. Abe’s heart swelled at the clear love and acceptance their mate showed to the three of them. She hadn’t come to him before Tank because of any rank, but because he was closest, but she did chose her mates over the God because they were hers.

“That is as it should be, Abe.” Zeus’s words reminded him again that nothing was secret between them and the God. His heart stuttered and stopped. He looked at Tank then toward their mate. They’d been keeping stupid shit from her. It might’ve been only a short time, but even that could cause fractures in a relationship.

“Nita, we all had links before you that I hadn’t opened up to you. Not because I don’t love you and want to share everything with you. It’s just... I was a dumbass.” He wasn’t going to bullshit her and make excuses.

Tank nodded next to him. “I think we all kind of did, and for that, I’m sorry too.”

Their female dropped her chin to her chest, her emotions were closed off to them, breaking every single part of his heart. He’d take it. He’d fix it. Fuck he’d do anything to make it right with her.

Nita’s head lifted, her bright blue wolf eyes stared at them. She was an alpha female through and through. “Mates, I would be naïve to think you’re life started the moment we bonded. We have a lot to learn and to adjust to in regard to one another. I for one can’t wait to learn all the ideocracies that there is with each of you. We’ve all made love together twice now. I’ve made love with Link alone...” She was cut off by two growls.
