“Obvious?”
“Jealousy.”
“Oh,” Silver said. “Yeah, I’ve never really had to deal with that before.”
“You’re not dealing with it now? I just told you I thought of another woman while I was making you come.”
“Trust me, there’s jealousy there. There always will be.” Silver laughed. “My first thought, though, when you told me that, was that I was proud of you.”
“What? Why?”
“Because, number one, you told me. That was brave. Number two, you thought of it, and you went for it with me. What we have, Honor, I like it. And I want more of you, yes. More than just the amazing sex. I want to stay over tonight and sleep, which is strange to me, but it’s what I want. I know right now you don’t know if you’ll be with anyone else, at least without me, and that’s fine, but if you find someone you want to sleep with – yes, I will be jealous. I’ll be jealous watching Dev eat you out because I only want to do that myself.”
“Then, why do you do this?”
“Because I can push jealousy aside if it means you’re enjoying yourself and I’m enjoying myself.”
“What if I can’t? I mean, I think I can. I’ve watched you with others already, but that was before we were dating.”
“Picture me with Dev and Brandi now. Close your eyes. You’ve seen it, so you can picture it again.”
“Okay.” Honor closed her eyes. “Got it.”
“How does it feel?”
“It’s good. I like it, I think. I–”
“You what?” Silver smirked.
“I want to be there.”
“Then, be there, baby,” Silver said. “Be there with me.”
“Fuck,” Honor said and opened her eyes.
“See? You can push your jealousy aside, too, can’t you?”
Honor licked her lips and said, “I think so.”
CHAPTER 25
“I had a great night tonight,” Silver said when she walked Honor to her apartment door.
“Why do you sound like you’re not staying over?”
“I’m staying, if the offer still stands, but I also want to do the whole goodnight kiss thing out here,” she replied.
Silver took both of Honor’s hands in her own, and her thumbs swiped over the outside of Honor’s palms.
“I’ll repeat: I had a great time tonight, Honor.”
Honor couldn’t help but smile at how cute Silver Kincade was acting right now. Silver leaned in next, and Honor leaned in after her, connecting their lips for a sweet and too-brief kiss.
“What was that?” Honor asked.
“A kiss goodnight.”
“No, it wasn’t. That was a barely-there kiss.”
