With no plans for the day, she had no reason to get dressed, and lying here naked felt nice. She’d never done it before, always choosing to get dressed immediately after her shower or bath and never sleeping naked. Well, she couldn’t say that anymore. Even with the men she’d slept with, she’d always gotten out of bed after and had dressed once she’d cleaned up. With Silver, though, she hadn’t wanted any kind of barrier between them, and Silver seemed to have no issue sleeping naked and holding Honor the whole night through.

Honor still had no idea what Silver saw in her or why she wanted to be with Honor again and again, but Honor needed to push Silver out of her mind and think about Christina, who would be her date that night. Yes, Honor was going on her first official date with a woman. Christina had texted Honor the previous night almost immediately after Honor had gotten home, and Honor had texted her back, deciding there was no reason to be shy over text when she’d never met this woman. They’d texted back and forth for a few hours before Honor had finally said goodnight, but not before Christina had asked if she wanted to grab a no-pressure drink.

Honor had said yes easily. She didn’t want to keep putting her life off because she couldn’t be brave enough to put herself out there. So, as she lay in her bed, she thought about what dress she’d wear for their drink at a fancy bar in the city. She had a red one that she thought looked nice on her. Of course, she hadn’t worn it in a while, so she’d need to make sure it still fit. Honor ran her finger over the spot on her hip again and realized that, even if she wanted to, she could not have sex with Christina tonight.

“She’d have a few questions that I do not plan on answering,” Honor muttered to herself.

She couldn’t help but picture Silver’s eager lips sucking on that spot, though, and her mind instantly went to how she had knelt in front of Silver before leaving. Silver had given her an option. Honor could have kissed her goodbye, like a date or girlfriend would have, or she could kiss her clit, which would probably lead to more. And yes, Honor knew that, realistically, she didn’t have to do either, but Silver was just sitting there, legs spread, looking so gorgeous and charming in her confidence, and Honor had wanted her. No, she’d wanted to kiss her. She’d wanted to straddle Silver and make out with her until the absolute last minute. Then, she would’ve left and gone to work. That was what Honor had wanted, and she knew Silver would’ve given that to her. Making Silver come wasn’t exactly a poor substitute, though.

Honor ran her fingertip through her building wetness, unable to believe she could still be turned on, and was about to dip lower when her phone buzzed. She checked the screen and saw it was a text from someone at work.

“Flowers?” she said after reading the message.

“Hey, Honor,” the reception girl greeted when Honor just called the office.

“There are flowers there for me?”

“Yeah, they just got here.”

“You’re sure they’re for me?”

“They have your name on the little envelope.”

“What are you even doing there today?” Honor asked. “It’s Saturday.”

“I just came in to print extra flyers for the event tomorrow. I go for a run by the office most days, and I thought I’d do it today so I don’t have to do it tomorrow. Some delivery guy just dropped the flowers off, though, so I signed for them. I hope that’s okay.”

“Yeah, sure. Do you know who they’re from?”

“No, I’d have to open the card for that. Do you want me to?”

“Uh… no,” Honor replied. “I’ll just come in and get them. I don’t want them to die over the weekend. Thanks for letting me know, though.”

“Sure. I’ll be here for a few if you’re coming in soon.”

“Maybe an hour,” she said.

“Cool.”

After hanging up, Honor looked around her bedroom. Would Christina have sent her flowers before their first date? Then again, why would she have sent them to the office when she had Honor’s address for their date tonight? Honor didn’t know, but she dressed quickly and headed into the office, deciding that the flowers must have come from a donor or someone they’d helped recently. That wasn’t uncommon.

When she arrived at the office building, no one was there, so she went straight back to her own office and noticed a bouquet of red roses sitting on her desk. There had to be at least two dozen of them.

“What the hell?” she asked no one.

She’d never gotten red roses from a donor or caregiver before. Honor dropped her purse on her desk and pulled the card from the bouquet, reading her name in the typed font on the white envelope before pulling out the card.

Honor,

Please come to the show tonight. I have something for you. If not, please call me. Can we talk, please? I know things are a little weird right now, but I don’t want them to be, babe. I’m not performing tonight. I’ve made other arrangements. Please.

Silver

“Silver?” Honor said out loud as she read and reread the card to herself. “Silver sent me flowers.” She smiled and breathed in the scent of roses. “These must have cost a fortune.” She touched one of the petals and reread the card again.

She’d told herself that she was done with the show. There were only two performances left, and she could get by without going to those. Silver would get bored with her eventually, and that would be the end. Honor would just go out with Christina, and maybe they’d go out again after that. Then, at some point, maybe they’d sleep together.

As Honor sat in one of the guest chairs and stared at the flowers, her phone buzzed.
