“Did you come?” Honor asked.

Silver turned and stopped walking.

“You know I did. You watched me. Did you?”

“No,” Honor replied.

“No? Why not?” Silver asked, taking her hand without even thinking about it.

“I don’t know. I just wanted to keep watching you.”

“You tasted yourself.”

“Yes,” Honor said in a breathy tone.

Silver leaned in and took a deep breath.

“Fuck. You smell like yourself.”

“I can’t believe I did that.” Honor shook her head.

“I love that you did that.” Silver looked skyward. “And I said we’d talk tonight… What was I thinking? I could have my mouth on you right now, tasting you.”

“If…” Honor bit that sexy bottom lip. “If you want to, we can.”

Silver gave her a soft smile and squeezed her hand.

“I definitely want to. But I also agreed to talk to you tonight, and I want us to talk. I don’t want you to run out on me the next time we do that, Honor. So, I think talking is a good idea. I just might need a shower now.”

“Didn’t you just shower?”

“Yes. But I just smelled you, so now I’m all hot and bothered again.” Silver leaned in and kissed Honor on the forehead.

When she pulled back, she wondered where in the hell that had come from.

CHAPTER 13

“Okay. We have to make a rule,” Silver stated.

“A rule?” Honor asked.

Silver stood in front of the door to her apartment, which was in one of the city’s old buildings, but this one had a real, historically cool vibe to it. The door looked like it slid instead of opened and was metal with blues and greens all over it with silver underneath as if it had been painted to look that way. The walls around her were beige and brown brick, with some painted white or the matching blue and green. Those bricks were few and far between, though, so they didn’t overwhelm the natural stone look and feel at all.

“Yes, a rule,” Silver repeated before she unlocked the door and slid it open. “No sex talk.”

“What?” Honor said with a laugh.

“If we’re not having sex tonight, we can’t discuss it. I might not be able to help myself. I mean, I’d stop if I had to, obviously, but you’d also said earlier that you’d be up for that, so it would be hard.”

“And if I already said I’d be up for it, why are you saying we’re just going to talk?”

“Because you seem like you might want to get to know me a little bit. Or, maybe I’m just projecting,” she said and motioned for Honor to walk inside behind her. “Come on in.”

Honor followed her and asked, “Projecting?”

“Yeah. I want to get to know you, but maybe you don’t want to get to know me,” Silver replied and closed the door behind Honor.

“I do, though,” Honor replied. “And I don’t know why, which is weird. It should’ve just been sex. I guess it could be still. You do that. I don’t. But I’ve been discovering some things about myself recently that lead me to believe I’ve been wrong about a lot of things.”
