I hand her phone back, and she sniffles. "I gave him my V-card. It wasn't like I didn't wait. He said all the right things." It feels like déjà vu.

"That's what some of them do. They're good ones out there, but you need time to figure it out, if not, it can get messy sometimes. He told you that because he knows you wouldn't show up."

She glares. "I would, but you're here."

"So…what…you're just going to show up there and do what exactly? Rip her off of him. The damage is done. You can't take away what you saw on your phone…what everyone saw."

"You're right, but when my brother finds out he's there and what he's doing with whoever, he will kick his ass. He will probably get kicked out of Ohio before he even gets to start football, and my sister will probably do the same to the girl my now ex-boyfriend is currently finger-fucking. It's what I would do."

She's probably right.

I slide my cell phone out and text Valen because I know he is probably there. It's initiation night.

Veronica: Where are you?

Valen: Why do you want to know? Are you all out of fresh victims already?

Veronica: No. I'm bored actually. I wanted to see what you jock losers are up to.

Valen: Ohio frat party. The jocks’ initiation party.

Veronica: Why are you there?

Valen: You know why.

Valen wants no-strings sex to feed his addiction. A good-looking guy like Valen and one of the sons of Kenyan will have no issues getting pussy.

Veronica: Be careful. They get attached.

I love teasing him. He thinks it's some twisted scheme I'm up to, but if he only knew the real me, maybe he would think differently.

Valen: Are you coming to rescue me, Veronica? Do you need me to FEED your demons?

Since Reid and Jess happened, Valen has spiraled into a fuck frenzy.

Veronica: You know you couldn't satisfy me. I wonder if your balls ever dropped.

Valen: Come over and find out. Tell me how big they are.;)

He's drunk or almost there. He would have never offered, otherwise.

Veronica: Maybe I will.

Not for what he thinks, but I need to help my friends out before they screw up their lives over some asshole with a hard-on for naïve girls. At least I think they are my friends. I glance at Melody, watching her wipe the tears from her red-rimmed eyes. "Did your parents leave the keys to their second car? Can you drive?" I ask.

She nods. "Where are we going?"

"To make sure your brother and sister don't fuck up what they worked so hard for, but I need something to wear to a frat party."

She smiles, her eyes lighting up. "Yeah, I have the spare key to their car, and I have something you could wear, but how are you going to get in? You need to know someone."

"I do."

"Who?"

I don't really need to know anyone. My reputation proceeds me, but I can't tell Melody that. Or Adam. Or anyone. I just hope this doesn't blow up in my face. Reid and the Bedford twins don't hang out at parties since their wives are at home. Valen is obviously drunk or on some type of drug. I can use Melody as an excuse for showing up and confronting the little prick before Adam and his sister find out.

It's not like anyone will announce who I am to the entire room like a bunch of idiots. Adam thinks I live in a small house on the outskirts of Kenyan with only my mom. I always make an excuse when he sometimes gives me a ride home because it's raining, and I ask him to leave me at the corner, or my mother will freak out if she sees me alone with a guy. I hate lying, but lies are comfortable to tell because they are easy and hide the truth.
