“Wait. What? I don’t want her to leave. I never want her to leave, Cat. Why does she think that?”
“She talked about the way you’ve been acting. All secretive and withdrawn.”
“I have been secretive but not withdrawn. I’m working with a jeweler in town on her collar and my ring.”
Cat looked shocked. “We all wondered why you haven’t collared her. She just took it as another sign you didn’t want her.”
Jake ran his hand down his face. “That’s bullshit. Please tell me where she is so I can explain.”
“What about the women you’re still fucking?” Cat said.
“Baby, watch your tone. He’s a Dom, so you have to show some respect.”
“Even if he’s an asshole?” she spat out.
Macy sighed. “Yes. Even if he’s an asshole.”
“Why do you think I’m screwing other women? I haven’t touched another woman since I met Hannah.”
“Oh, really. What about the one all over you in the basement?”
Jake’s eyes widened. “Shewasdown there? Rick said he thought he saw her, but I couldn’t see her. As far as the woman, I didn’t even know she was there. I was talking to Rick, and she came up and touched me. When I realized it, I pushed her away and warned her if she touched me again, she’d be banned from the club.”
Cat looked away. But Jake could tell she still was unsure. “Is there anything else?”
“Yes. Several women told her you were still having fun with all of them in the basement.”
Jake’s eyebrows rose. “Who?”
“The Three Musketeers. You know who they are. They’re always together, so someone started calling them that.”
“I know who you’re talking about, but I can honestly tell you I’ve never fucked any of them. They drive me up the wall. I can’t stand to talk to them, much less touch them.”
Jake gripped the back of his neck where the tension kept growing. If he didn’t have Hannah soon, he’d go crazy. “Please, Cat. Tell me where she is?”
Cat lay her head against Macy’s chest. “I can’t. I really don’t know. She packed her bag and told me she’d call me in a few days.”
“I can’t wait a few days.” He turned away from them. “Fuck.” He turned back. “Do you have any information you can give me? I hate the thought of her by herself hurting because of some misunderstandings.”
Cat looked up at Macy.
“Baby. Look at him. He loves that woman, and we all know she loves him. Don’t keep them apart.”
Cat sighed and looked at him. “I really don’t know where she is, but she took my truck.”
It took a moment before he realized he could find her through Cat’s GPS.
“Let’s go down to the office,” Macy said. “We’ll track her location down.” He bent and kissed Cat. “I’ll be right back.”
Cat nodded. She stopped Jake at the door. “Hey, Jake, if you ever hurt her again, I’ll make sure you never find her the next time.”
Jake almost growled at the thought of someone keeping him away from Hannah, but he just nodded. He wouldn’t worry about it because it would never happen again. He grabbed a few things from his place before meeting Macy in the office.
Within half an hour, Jake was on the road headed to Hannah’s motel. She drove far enough away to hide from him, but he’d take the time it took to get her to settle down. The last thing he wanted to do was upset her more than she already was, and barking at her would probably do just that.
Chapter Twenty-Two
Jake pulled up outside the motel, saw Cat’s truck, and got out. No one was around when he walked into the office, so he rang the bell on the counter. It took several minutes before an old man shuffled out of the back.
