“We’ll get several days off since the club is only open Thursday through Saturday. I want to take you to get some clothes.”
“Oh, you don’t…”
“Don’t say it. I’m going to enjoy putting you in the clothes I’ve bought you. Don’t try to take that away from me.”
“It’s just that I hate the thought of you using your money on me.”
“Tough shit.” He grinned when she gasped and looked up at him.
When she saw his smile, she settled back against him.
“I want you to meet some other friends of ours. Several are women I know you’ll like. Just ask Cat. She took to them right away.”
He could imagine Hannah with the group of women. He guessed it was something she’d never had before, and he wanted to give her everything she ever needed and wanted.
Jake kissed the top of her head. “Let’s rest for a bit and then get up and shower.”
She nodded and snuggled against him. He heard her breathing even out immediately.
Yeah, he could see himself doing this for the rest of his life.
Chapter Twenty
A few weeks passed, and everything seemed to fall into place for Hannah. She enjoyed working in the club and helping in the office. She had made several women friends that she cherished. The best part was Jake. She could tell he cared for her, and she had quickly fallen in love.
The problem was that she sometimes caught him looking restless, and he said it was nothing every time she asked if everything was okay. She caught him on the phone a few times, and when he saw her, he would quickly end the conversation and hang up.
She wanted desperately to ask Cat what to do. She couldn’t shake the feeling that he was pulling away from her. As much as she hated the thought of leaving him, she thought it better to know sooner rather than later when her feelings for him deepened.
Hannah knew it would be excruciating to leave, but in the back of her mind, she had always thought it would eventually happen.
Besides the calls and looking anxious, he had yet to give her a collar like Cat had from Macy. From what she understood, by doing so, he was stating she was his, and that meant no other man touching her.
Most everyone respected her enough and knew about her and Jake. But there were a few men that never seemed to give up. Fisher was one of them, and he seemed to get bolder every day. When she told him she was Jake’s, he grinned and reminded her that if she really were Jake’s, she’d be wearing his collar.
Hannah was always able to get away and careful not to let the man corner her, but he scared her. She had no idea how often she had told him no, but still, he kept at her.
That night, she dressed with care. She had talked herself into going into the basement because Jake had to work there again that night. He rarely had to, but they all took turns.
She wore the short black leather skirt and a corset that Jake had bought for her. They made her feel beautiful, and she liked that he had chosen them.
She waved at Cat as she walked into the crowded club and toward the bar to see where they wanted her. That night, Link was behind the bar, and she got his attention.
“Hey, Doll,” Link said.
She smiled. “Hi. What section do you want me in tonight?”
“You get section C. It’s close to here, so I can keep track of you,” Link said.
“I thought I was doing okay?”
He held her hand. “You are doing great. Jake just wants us to keep our eyes on you.”
“I don’t want you guys to always worry about me. Most everyone is nice to me, and I’m never alone. Plus, I’m still wearing the white collar, stating I’m not interested in mingling.”
She watched Link scowl. “What?”
“It would help if Jake collared you. No one would be dumb enough to touch you.”
