She wanted to laugh because she wanted to say the same thing, but she’d only had one experience, and it was so bad anything he did would be the best for her.

Her hands ran over his back as she waited for him to move.

He raised up so he could see her face before thrusting in and out of her in a slow, sweet drag. She could feel her sensitive pussy try to grip him, which made the feeling even more overwhelming. It was disconcerting having him watch her as he fucked her and started to close her eyes.

“Don’t do it. Open your eyes.”

She shook her head.

He paused and cupped her face. “Hannah.” His tone was domineering and slightly threatening, sending another frisson of need down her spine.

Her eyes fluttered open.

“Good girl. Keep them open.”

He started moving again. The intensity increased, making her stomach clench as her desire rose to a height she never knew existed. It was overwhelming and wonderful at the same time.

When it kept rising, she felt her anxiety seep back in. “Jake.”

“I’ve got you. Let it take you.”

Hannah shook her head. “No. It’s too much.”

“No. I’ve got you. Nothing will happen to you. I’ll make sure of it. Now come for me.”

As much as she wanted to fight it, he continued preventing her from moving away. She didn’t think it could get any more intense, and then he started ramming into her, pushing her over.

A scream bounced off the walls, and she was vaguely aware that it was her. His moan followed as she felt his cock grow larger and then flex inside of her.

“Jesus Christ,” he yelled.

When her body finally relaxed, she held onto him as he took his own pleasure and then rested against her. He was so heavy and preventing her from taking a deep breath, but she didn’t want to let him go. Her emotions were too volatile and sensitive. She needed him as close as he could, giving her time to settle.

She tried to hide her face when he lifted himself up. God, she wanted this part to be over because her emotions were such a jumble, she was afraid of blurting something out that she’d regret later.

He pressed a quick kiss to her lips. “I’ll be right back.”

She nodded and watched him pull himself off her and walk into the bathroom. She heard the toilet and then the sink. She rolled to lay on her side with her back to the bathroom and pulled the blanket over her.

The mattress behind her sagged as he got into bed. Hannah squeaked when his arm came around her waist, and he hauled her against his chest. He took a moment to smooth the blanket over them before kissing the back of her head.

“Good night, Sweetheart.”

She cleared her throat. “Good night.”

Hannah was both relieved and disappointed when she felt him relax.

Was this normal? She thought he’d want to talk, but he was falling asleep instead. Maybe she was making too much of it, but it somehow made her feel hollow. His breath deepened, and she felt it ruffle the back of her head.

A thought popped into her head that made her feel sad and ashamed she hadn’t realized it before. She wasn’t like the other women in another way. She didn’t have the experience and hadn’t known how to please him, so of course, he was disappointed.

There was nothing she could do about it, but she guessed he wouldn’t want to have a repeat fuck with her, so now she had to decide how long she could wait to leave because she knew she couldn’t handle watching him with other women.

The close feeling she’d had a moment before disappeared, and something empty took its place. She’d take it a day at a time. It was her only choice. She’d also try her best to stay out of his way.

Chapter Seventeen

Jake lay awake for a long while. He could feel the tension coming from her and knew he should have turned and held her and told her how special she was. But his emotions were so chaotic he didn’t know how to deal with them and didn’t want to say the wrong thing until he knew.
