Effortlessly, he slid her over and tucked her under him. He pinned her arms over her head when she tried to hit him.

“Let me up,” she screamed.

Even though he held her tightly, he was being careful to be gentle.

“Settle down.”

“No. Let me the fuck up.”

He settled in-between her legs. “It’s not going to happen. Fight all you want. I’m not letting you go.”

Hannah was already tired and had very little energy to keep struggling. She lay under him and concentrated on her breathing. She closed her eyes, trying to block him the only way she could at the moment. She had no idea why she thought that lying still would get him to release her.

“Please.”

“Open your eyes, Sweetheart.”

She blinked a few times and then looked into his eyes. The gentleness in his gaze almost had tears come to her eyes, but she fought it off.

“I’m so sorry. I wish I could do more to make you feel worthy, but it will take time.”

She shook her head. “I don’t want you to bother. I’ll stay here until I have money saved, and then I’m moving on.”

He looked surprised, and then a shadow darkened his eyes. “You’re planning on leaving already?”

She could tell by the tone of his voice that he didn’t like hearing it, but he needed to know he wouldn’t have to deal with her forever.

“Did you really think I’d attach myself to you and leach off of you? I may be a lot of things, but I’m not a parasite."

He clenched his jaw. “No one thinks you’re a parasite.”

She tried to laugh. “Jake, I’ve only been here a few days.”

He grabbed onto her chin. “You listen to me, little sub. You’re not going anywhere.”

“But…”

“Shut up,” he barked.

Her teeth snapped together.

“I want you to stay. Do you think you can give us a chance?”

“At what?” she asked.

“Being together.”

She almost snorted. “Together, how?”

“However we want.”

She tried to shake her head, but he tightened his grip on her.

“No, listen. Give us time. Do you think you can do that? Unless you don’t want to have anything to do with me.”

Her eyes widened. “That’s not it.”

“That’s good,” he said. “So, you’ll stay and work in the club and live with me.”
