His hand rubbed her thigh as he talked, and concentrating was getting hard for her. “It means I’ll be walking around making sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to. Our main objective is to protect the subs.”

“I like that.”

He nodded. “I’ve visited places that didn’t have that mindset, and it was hard to see.”

“I’m glad you guys are different.”

“We are, too.”

Hannah turned when she heard several voices come into the room. She smiled when she saw Cat.

“Oh, hey,” Cat said and hugged her. “I hear we’ll be working together?”

Hannah nodded and smiled.

Cat turned to Jake. “Can she come to our place before? I can find something for her to wear.”

“I didn’t think about that,” Jake said. “Yes. That would be wonderful. Can you bring her down when you both are ready?”

“Sure.”

Hannah tried to ignore the looks she was getting from two other men she didn’t know.

“Guys, I’d like you to meet Hannah. She’ll be working here.”

“Oh, really.”

“Sweetheart, that is Link, and the other is Caden. They are owners with Macy and me.”

“It’s nice to meet you,” she said.

“You, too, Doll,” Caden said. “Where will you be living?”

“With me,” Jake said.

Hannah tensed at the hard, rough tone of Jake’s voice. She had no idea what made him mad.

Caden chuckled and held up his hands. “I got it.”

Jake snorted but relaxed. “Has the liquor been delivered?”

“The driver just called,” Macy said. “They’re about an hour away.”

“Good. That will give us time to put it away,” Link said, walking behind the bar.

Hannah watched him read over papers and write things down.

“Is that the inventory?” Caden asked.

Link nodded. “Yeah. I want to get the program set up. It will make it so much easier to keep track of things.”

“It’s going to be a bitch,” Caden said.

“There’s a person at the bank that can help us,” Macy said.

“What kind of software?” Hannah said. She turned red when everyone looked at her.

“QuickBooks. Have you heard of it?” Jake asked.
