Mercy turns around to see what Jinx is talking about and groans. Her face is flushed when she turns back to Jinx. “I’m sorry, just ignore them.”
The them being Boomer and Tiny fucking over the edge of the bar. Shredder and Daisy are going at it on the sofa, too, but I don’t know if Mercy has noticed that yet.
“It’s nothing I haven’t seen before. Don’t worry.”
Before she can say anything else, Splinter is heading our way with a handful of club girls following behind him from the kitchen. He spots Jinx and grins before taking the seat beside her. “Quick, save me,” he pleads with her, his hands pressed together.
She looks at him and laughs before she tracks the bunnies. Ginger leans over me and runs her fingers through my hair, but I shake her off.
Jinx narrows her eyes at me before turning to Splinter again. “Who am I saving you from?” she asks just as Ginger turns her attention to him.
Before Ginger can touch him, Jinx mumbles, “Never mind,” then grabs the neck of his T-shirt, tugging him closer, and kisses him.
I’m rendered speechless for a minute, waiting for my jealousy to rear its head. Surprisingly, it’s not jealousy I’m feeling. My cock is rock-hard at the sight of Splinter kissing her.
When Ginger stomps away with a huff, Jinx pulls away and wipes the corner of her mouth. “You’re welcome.”
“I need you to do it again, just in case,” he says, making her grin.
“Maybe later.”
“You’re just giving out kisses willy-nilly now? I’m heartbroken.” I grab my chest, ignoring the pull of the stitches in my arm.
“Did you just say willy-nilly?”
“He did.” Mercy laughs.
“Pipe down, pipsqueak. We’re having a very important conversation here,” I tease her, and she sticks her tongue out at me.
“Sorry, snowflake. It seems my lips are in demand today.” Jinx winks at me.
“Both sets of lips? I’m just curious.” I laugh when Mercy reaches over and hits me.
Jinx just rolls her eyes.
The club girls are hovering, either waiting to make a second approach or curious about Jinx. Mercy shifts on Scope’s lap, her eyes darting around. Jinx sees how uncomfortable she’s getting and glances around at the girls, cocking an eyebrow almost in a I dare you fashion. Thankfully, they back off, but they don’t go far.
“It always like this?”
“It’s a clubhouse.” Wizz shrugs.
“I’m aware, but that’s not what I asked.”
Wizz leans forward, glaring at Jinx, clearly not liking her tone.
Mercy jumps in, trying to deflect his attention. “What he’s trying to say is that it comes with the territory. Where there are bikers, there are club bunnies.”
“I get that. I never understood it, but I get it. I just—”
“What’s not to get?” Wizz questions sharply.
The table goes quiet. Mercy looks like she wants to grab Jinx and run away with her. Scope watches with interest to see how things play out. Splinter moves closer to Jinx in an almost protective gesture. And Jinx? Well, she doesn’t seem fazed at all.
The woman either has a death wish or balls of steel.
