“You guys are killing me,” I mutter before moving to give them a moment alone, but Mercy reaches out and grabs my wrist.
“No, not yet. There’s more.”
Scope walks away as Kaz stands up, offering me a grin and stepping back. Wizz follows suit.
Everyone is staring at us, so I turn to Mercy and mutter, “You forgot to fill me in on this part.”
“I’ll let my man take it from here.”
I turn and see Scope is back, walking to stand directly in front of me. “My woman just told me we are having a daughter. That wouldn’t be happening if it weren’t for you. If you hadn’t followed her… You risked your own life for hers.”
“It was nothing.”
“It was everything,” he growls. “Did you know she regained consciousness for a little while down there? She couldn’t move or speak, but she could hear, and she could see.”
He swallows hard as I wrap my arms around myself.
“You dragged your body across the floor to cover Mercy’s, to protect my daughter. The vest you tried to put on Mercy prevented her already fractured skull from shattering. You begged Boomer to carry her out even though it meant leaving you behind.”
My men come and stand behind me, offering me their support with hands on my shoulders and waist.
“You were the best prospect we ever had. No offense, Spoons.”
Laughing lightens the mood as the crowd parts to let someone through.
“You are exactly what Chaos Demons are all about. And I, for one, will be proud to have you at my back.”
I look at him in confusion as he steps aside, revealing Boomer holding out a cut with a Chaos Demons patch—a patch with Jinx stitched across it. My hands fly to my mouth as more cheers ring out. My eyes lock on Boomer’s as he steps forward to help me slide it on.
“Unanimous vote. Welcome to the club, sister.”
That’s the exact moment I burst into tears.
“See, this is why we don’t let girls in our gang,” he teases as he hugs me.
“Shut up.” I laugh before I’m spun around and hugged by my men.
“We’re so fucking proud of you. Of course, this fucks up our whole spiel about you being our old lady and wearing our property patch,” Knight jokes.
“You guys knew, and you kept it from me. Assholes.” I shove him gently. “Wait, you want me as your old lady?”
“More than we’ve ever wanted anything else,” Eightball answers as Splinter and Knight nod.
“I could still get your names on my cut, but I think I’d rather have property tattoos. One for each of you. Something permanent.”
“Fuck yes!” Splinter growls, making me laugh as someone behind me clears their throat.
I turn and find Viper with his hand out. I place mine in his and shake. “Well done, Jinx. Well fucking done.” He signs as he speaks before tucking Megan under his arm and walking away.
I jolt when Mercy dives into my arms, nearly knocking me flying.
“Why are you always trying to knock me on my ass?” I grumble, hugging her tight.
She doesn’t answer me, just moves to stand beside me, resting her head on my arm as we take in our family around us.
“Things are changing,” she says softly, looking up at me with a happy smile.
I move my hand to her belly and grin when I feel my goddaughter kick.
“Yeah, they are, and it’s going to be epic.”
