We both turn at the sound of Scope’s voice.
“Yeah. Shredder’s coming along for the ride too.”
“Alright. You see Boomer?”
“Right behind you.”
Scope turns just as Boomer stomps out with a face like thunder. He doesn’t speak to any of us. He shoves his helmet on before mounting his bike.
“Never thought I’d see the day that someone made me look like a little ray of sunshine,” Scope admits, making me and Shredder laugh as he climbs on his bike, and we all take off behind him.

We make it in good time, pulling up to the gates a little after two. We park after the prospects at the gate let us in before heading inside the clubhouse. Megan is the first one to spot us, signaling to Viper and Zero, who are sitting with her. They both look over and stand, motioning for us to join them.
Boomer walks off to the corner where his father, Knuckles, is. The man is a carbon copy of his son, only more weathered. Both are full of piss and vinegar, though.
Shredder and I follow Scope to Viper’s table and stand behind him.
Viper chuckles before sitting down. “At ease. It’s just a friendly chat.”
I look at Scope, who nods. Viper might be the president of the mother chapter, but I answer to Scope. I pull up the seat on his left while Shredder takes the one on his right.
“Hey Megan, it’s good to see you. How’s the rug rat?” I make sure she can see my lips as I speak. It’s second nature now. Megan has been deaf since she was a teenager and can read lips like a pro.
“He’s a handful. I thought the terrible twos were a myth, but they’re not. That kid is running me ragged.” I grin, my eyes flicking to Shredder, who swallows.
“Where’s Grimm these days? I swear I never see that fucker anymore.”
“He drew the short straw, so he’s watching our son tear the house apart.” Zero grins.
“I’d put a few prospects on him. See what they’re made of. If they can’t handle a toddler, they can’t handle MC life.”
“Especially when most of you act like toddlers yourself, huh?” Megan teases.
I laugh, not denying it.
“Speaking of prospects…” Viper says.
“And that’s my cue to leave.” Megan stands up.
“Scope, Splinter, Shredder.” She cracks up laughing.
“It gets me every time. Seriously, all you need is a Michelangelo, Donatello, Raphael, and a Leonardo, and you’ll have a whole sexy Ninja Turtles biker reboot going on.”
Viper swats her ass. She glares at him, rubbing the area he smacked before walking away.
“So,” Zero starts.
“You called me all the way here to talk about my prospect? A prospect you shouldn’t know anything about.” Scope crosses his arms and scowls.
Viper leans back in his chair. “You think I shouldn’t know about this?” His voice is sharp.
“My club, my prospects. You didn’t ask about the other three I have. What I want to know is, who told you?”
“It doesn’t matter who told me. What I want to know is why?”
“Why not? She is the best person for the job. Smart, tough, and protective of Mercy.”
