Although things are starting to add up. And I don’t like the fucking figure I’m coming out with.

It won’t stop me from doing what I’m doing though.

This only ends one way, and it’s not because I feel fucking sorry for her.

“He brings you here because he trusts you about as much as I do right now.

“And here we are.

“Your so-called husband is blowing up your cell like he cares about your well-being, and you’re here with me. My pet.”

She blows out a breath, her cheeks puffing out as if my little trip down memory lane is boring the fuck out of her.

“Still nothing to say?”

Her eyes hold mine, her lips remaining locked together.

Tucking my hand into my pocket, I pull her cell out.

That makes her react.

Her eyes widen in interest.

“How many times do you think he’s called?” I ask. “How many voicemails? Texts?”

Still, silence as another drip falls.

They’re getting faster, her hair beginning to darken as it soaks through.

“From what I’ve heard. He spent all night running around town searching for you. Fucking pussy.

“He didn’t get very far. There are only a handful of people who know where you are. And all of their loyalties are with me.

“So tell me, Pet. If he can’t bear to touch you, why does he care so much about the fact you never came home last night? Wasn’t the kitchen floor scrubbed, or…”

Nothing.

“Fine,” I say, pushing from the wall and walking around her. Her eyes follow my every movement until I’m out of her line of vision. “But you will talk.”

Without warning, I turn the faucet for the showerhead that sits right above her chair. Ice-cold water rains down on her, soaking her through in an instant.

Her shriek of shock rips through the air and I can’t help but smirk as she discovers who holds the upper hand here.

Cracking my knuckles, I walk around in front of her, the cool spray of the shower hitting me. The water is chilled especially for guests.

“I’d think about your vow of silence very seriously if I were you.”

Without another word, I turn my back on her and march past all the other doors and up the stairs.

The occupants of a couple of those rooms probably deserve a visit. But much like my pet, they can wait a little longer.

None of them are going anywhere.

The second I pull the heavy door open, voices hit my ears.

Combing my fingers through my hair, I make my way to see who’s decided to turn up for a visit instead of going to class like they fucking should be.

I find JD at the coffee machine, making Devin and Ezra coffees.
