I nod again, accepting his rules. I know all he cares about is keeping Winston safe, and I want the same. I know what I did has ruined our relationship forever, but at least I'll be able to be in my nephew's life.

"Thanks," I say as he leaves me alone in the living room.

I get to stay as Winston's nanny. Now I just need to find a way to ignore my feelings for Kevin.

Chapter 11

Diana

It's been two weeks since Kevin told me I could stay. I've barely seen him. He has spent most of his time at his office, getting out of the house early in the morning, and returning late.

He's avoiding me, and I can't blame him. I'm still shocked and thankful that he allowed me to stay here. I don't know if I would be able to do the same if I was in his shoes.

I heard Kevin coming back from his office about an hour ago, but I still can't sleep. I hate how our relationship ended, and I would do anything to make things right between us, but I understand that it won't be easy. I lied to him, and he has every right not to trust me anymore.

Getting out of bed, I walk to the kitchen to fetch myself a glass of warm milk with honey. It's been ages since I drank that, but it used to help me sleep when I was a kid. Maybe it still works.

As I finish drinking the milk, I hear a sound behind me and turn around to see Kevin standing by the door, watching me. The moment he realizes I saw him, he turns his back to me, ready to leave.

"Please, don't go," I beg.

He stops in his tracks but doesn't face me. Shoving his hands into his pockets, he stands by the door, frozen.

"What do you want?" he asks, his voice sounding weird.

I take a step closer to him, concerned. "Are you feeling okay?"

I rest my hand on his shoulder tentatively, afraid that he'll push me away. His muscles contract at my touch, but he doesn't move.

"What do you want, Diana?" he asks again.

I take a deep breath, mustering the courage to say what I need to make things better between us.

"You have no idea how sorry I am about everything that happened between us, and you have every right to be mad at me for as long as you need, but I hate how our relationship is right now." I pause for a few seconds. "Please, Kevin, if there's anything I can do to make things right and help you forgive me, just tell me what you need." My voice trembles, and I stop talking, afraid that I'll start crying. That's the last thing I need right now. I don't want him to think that I'm trying to make him feel sorry for me.

When he finally faces me, his eyes and cheeks are red.

"I don't know what I want," he says. "Actually, that's not true. I know what I want, but I don't want you to hurt me again."

Taking a step even closer, I stare attentively into his eyes.

"Are you drunk?"

He shakes his head, running his fingers through my hair, locking it behind my ear. Shivers run down my body at his touch, and I close my eyes, savoring the moment.

"My sweet, sweet Diana," he whispers, leaning closer to me until our lips are just a few inches apart. "Always tempting me. How am I supposed to walk away from you?"

"Don't," I reply in a whisper, stepping on my tiptoes as he kills the distance between us.

The moment my lips press against his, he pulls me to his body, kissing me with a desperate passion that matches mine. It's been a long time since I've been in his arms, and every inch of my body was missing him.

His hands move down my back to my butt, squeezing and pulling me into him. I moan as I feel his hard cock against my stomach and reach between our bodies to caress him through his jeans.

Kevin groans and, grabbing me by the waist, makes me sit on the kitchen counter. Breaking the kiss, he pushes my tank top over my head before leaning forward, taking one nipple into his mouth, sucking.

I moan as his tongue and mouth keep working wonders on my body. His fingers slip under my shorts and trace my drenched panties before moving them to the side, and tracing my folds with his fingertips.

My moans fill the kitchen while he keeps taking me closer to the edge. His mouth moves to the other nipple, giving it the same treatment as the first one.
