“I’m yours,” she whispers.

“You’re mine,” I repeat in a mumble as we stare at each other, unblinking.

“And Alex…I love you,” she whispers, as if scared I’ll run. But the opposite emotions rush through me at hearing it. Because I know in this moment, I feel exactly the same.

“Tahlia, I love you too,” I repeat back to her, not hesitating.

I dip my head and claim her lips in a sensual kiss. Hoping she can feel my love through my kiss, because I mean every single word.

She kisses me back with equal passion, trying to climb me, and a grumble leaves my chest. I’m overheating from our desire, and I wish I could rip her dress off her right now. A voice interrupts.

“It’s been one song. My turn. Go get Mike.”

I peel myself off Tahlia, and she’s flushed and smiling sheepishly as I stare down at her.

“You better go,” she mimes, wearing an amused look.

“I wish I didn’t,” I grumble, the erection making me edgy.

“Later,” she whisper-shouts.

“Definitely. At our house.”

She grins, and I think she liked me calling it our house.

Taking one last look over my shoulder, I feel settled, as I walk back to the guys.

I tell Mike it’s his turn, and he’s gone so fast, I barely get the words out.

After another round of drinks, I’m over it. I only want to dance with Tahlia, and because I can’t, I tell the guys I’d like to leave.

Mike’s happy with that, because he wants to go home and enjoy being with his wife alone while our mom has the baby for the night.

I can’t imagine not having Tahlia all the time and having to have a baby around.

I say goodbye and walk to the exit, but a voice stops me. I suck in a frustrated breath. Fucking hell. I just want to get out of here.

“Where are you going?” she purrs. I stare back at the woman I slept with once after we met here. I can’t even remember her fucking name.

Why does the sound of her voice now irritate me?

“Home,” I reply. I don’t want to lead her on, so I try to word it in a direct but kind tone.

“Why? I just got here. Why don’t you come and have a drink with me? I’m sure you won’t want to leave then.”

You mean, buy you a drink? But I don’t say that.

“No, I'm going home.”

She bats her eyelashes and whines about joining me, but I’m distracted. In the corner of my eye, I see Damien talking to a woman. His face still wears the same thin lips and grumpy expression, but from the way he’s giving her dopey eyes, I think he knows her. How? I don’t know. Right now, though, I don’t give a fuck.

I walk to the exit on a mission. I can’t stop. I have a date with my fiancée, in my bed, and I’m not staying here for anyone. I only want to go home to her.

Chapter 31

Alex

“You drove me crazy wearing this sexy little dress tonight.”
