“I thought this was supposed to be low key,” I say to Alice.

She shrugs. “You know them; you can’t rein them in.”

True. And so far, my bachelorette party has been fun, so I just want to let go and enjoy the night. Whatever crazy ideas they came up with.

Heading outside, I take in the limousine and my mouth opens into a full smile.

Tonight couldn’t get any better.

Sliding into the back, I ask Blake, “Where are we going?”

“Our old stomping ground.” He winks.

“Luxe?” I ask.

He nods with a knowing smile.

I smile eagerly.

I do love that club. Private and elite. Fancy and perfect for tonight. It’s also where I first met my now fiancé, and that knowledge alone makes me giddy. It’ll be like he’s with me without being physically there.

I didn’t want to go out, but now with some drinks and everyone around me, I can’t wait to dance.

Arriving there, we go inside and into a VIP area. This is new, as we’ve never rented out an exclusive spot before. We even have our own bartender, and we order a round of drinks.

My gaze drifts over the crowd until a familiar set of eyes stare at me from across the room.

Alex.

Chapter 30

Alex

Sipping my scotch, I welcome the warmth that spreads through me. Not from the alcohol, but from the woman I’m engaged to. Her eyes hit mine, and they widen before a smile curves her lips. My gaze runs over her, and I can’t help but smile. She’s wearing a crown and a white sash with gold writing that says Bride. Never in my life did I think I’d be here having a bachelor party. Me. Nope, I’m still in shock, but I’m fucking happy we are.

It still doesn’t feel real.

Pushing that aside, I look at the vision in white. Pure heart, probably a little too good for me. But I’m selfish and won’t give her up. The thought of anyone touching her has me clutching my tumbler a little more tightly than I should.

Her teeth sink down into her soft, pillowy lips. God, I want to march over there and kiss them. I’m about to cross the room when a hand slaps my shoulder.

“You’re not meant to see her tonight, you know,” Mike’s voice says. He’s teasing me, and I give him a smirk back.

“I know, but I don’t like these rules.”

Mike chuckles. “No one fucking does. But considering my wife is there, and if she hadn’t just had Ethan, I’d impregnate her tonight.”

“Jeez, that’s a bit much.”

He raises his brow in a challenge. “Let’s see what happens when you get married and have—”

“We’re not having kids. The agreement was to get married.”

“And then what?”

I drain my glass and put it away before coming to stand beside him, my hands in my pockets, watching her swing her hips. I know it’s all for me. The way her eyes flick over here to make sure I’m watching. Fuck me, I wouldn’t want to watch anyone else. Only her. I’d choose her every single time.

Both of us are enjoying each other and living together has transformed our relationship from friends to lovers.
