Logan chuckles. “I need to get a condom.”
“Oh.” I stop gyrating on him and release his ear from my teeth. “Do you have one on you? I might in my purse.”
Why is birth control such a mood killer? Better than an unplanned pregnancy. Being responsible has been the last thing on my mind. Getting Logan naked and inside me has been my only focus.
“I have one.” He reaches behind him and pulls one out of his back pocket.
It’s then I realize he isn’t wearing his usual business suit. He’s still the consummate professional in a light gray shirt and tie and fancy black dress pants that hug his muscular legs and ass so well. Losing the coat is a big change for him.
And sex in his office is an even bigger change. No more words are needed. Actions speak louder. I glance down to the space between us and stare with lust in my eyes as he opens the condom and rolls it on. There’s something erotic about the process that has me moaning.
Logan lifts his gaze to mine and whispers against my lips. “This is going to be fast.”
“Yes.”
He nudges my panties to the side, and he sinks into me. My eyes roll back in their sockets and my head hits the door as he rams into me. He slides his free hand between us and strokes me. I squeeze my thighs around his hips and push my heels into his ass riding the climax that hits me seconds after he touches me.
“I thought I was going to be fast,” he murmurs into her mouth.
“Ass,” I pant.
“Mm. Very nice, indeed.” He holds firm on to my ass and moves in and out of me in quick, deep thrusts.
His body tenses and his breathing grows louder as he grunts his release into me. He rests his forehead against my shoulder as we both come down from our highs. He must sense when my legs grow weak, and he slowly sets me down.
“Did I hurt you?”
My first instinct is to make a joke, but he looks so sincere, so worried about the line we crossed. I lift up onto my tiptoes and kiss him lightly on the lips. “That was sexy as hell. And if I find a splinter in my ass later, it’ll have been worth it.”
So much for being serious.
“Promise I’ll be the first to know if you find a splinter.” He gives my butt a squeeze, then lowers my skirt.
“I can’t make that promise,” I tease while I attempt to smooth the wrinkles in my blouse, noticing the marker spot. “I hope this doesn’t stain.”
Logan puts his thumb under my chin forcing me to look up at him. “Why?”
“Because I love this top. I—”
“Reese,” he growls, pinching my chin lightly. “Promise.”
The insecurity is back in his eyes. I wrap my fingers around his wrist and hold his hand in place on my chin. “You’ll be the second. I’ll be the first to know since it’ll be poking me in the backside, not that I expect to have any splinters in my as—”
He shuts me up with a rough kiss. “Smart ass.”
“Better than a splintered ass.”
Logan shakes his head as he crosses the hall to the bathroom. When he comes out, my hair and clothes are back in place and his shirt is tucked in, but his tie is nowhere in sight. We stand in awkward silence, something we both wanted to avoid. Since he’s so set on keeping business and pleasure separate, I clear my throat and turn into business mode.
“Wildflowers loved the proposal. Clara didn’t have any questions or suggestions and said they’ll be ready to start the changes next Wednesday.” I leave and go into my office, hoping he follows. He does.
“I saw the proposal. It was solid. I’m glad she sees the benefits of working with you.” Logan takes a seat in the chair across from my desk and crosses his ankle over his knee.
I sit behind my desk, but all my notes are on the table by my whiteboard. I pick up a pen and tap it against my desk, then set it down and stand. I step in front of the whiteboard and uncap the blue marker that ruined my blouse.
“I was playing around with Lumberyard numbers earlier today.” For the next twenty minutes, I lay out my findings while Logan listens with interest. We’ve both gone into work mode and are more comfortable talking about numbers and investment predictions than bringing up what happened in his office.
When I’m finished, he gives me a few suggestions, which I note in my computer, and then he goes back into his office. It’s what we usually do on Fridays. I go over the work I did since Monday’s conference call and fill him in on my meetings with clients. Then I listen to his feedback, make the changes, and do it all again the following week.
