He put a finger beneath my chin and raised my face so that I was staring into his eyes. "You're a beautiful dream come true, did you know that?"

"Is that a yes?" I asked, feeling embarrassed, but needing an answer.

He wrapped his hand around the back of my neck and pulled me forward. Our kiss was gentle at first, but then he deepened it. He was biting down on my lip, and I felt the way I always felt around Axe: completely swept away.

"I need your answer," I gasped as he began to work his way down my neck.

He pulled back and looked at me. He held my gaze unblinking until I thought I might look away. Except he wouldn't let me. He grabbed my chin and held me there.

"Yes," he finally said. "A million times, yes."

"I want to be yours," I said to him.

He moved back in, tugging my shirt down to expose my shoulder. "I know," he growled into my skin.

"It's been so long since I've been with someone," I gasped.

His movements slowed, and I started to feel embarrassed. Had I said something wrong? Finally, he pulled back from me completely.

"It's not right."

"What's not right?" I asked frantically. I immediately started to panic that it really had been me messing things up.

"This. The way this is about to happen. It's not right."

I felt like I wanted to cry. I didn't understand what was happening.

"Please, I don't understand," I said, basically clutching at his shirt.

Suddenly something seemed to click, and he looked at me. "Oh, gosh, Zoey," he exclaimed. "No, it's not you. You poor, sweet girl.” He wrapped me up in his arms and held me tight as I tried to slow my frantic heart. "I just meant that after all this time, it wouldn't be right for our first time to just be some dirty fuck. Foreplay starts ten hours before, not ten minutes before," he said with a wink.

I shook my head. "Axe, it's okay. I don't mind. Being with you is what matters to me.”

He brushed a thumb against my cheek. "Beautiful, sweet girl. Even if you don't mind, you still deserve more than what we were about to do."

I hesitated. "Well, what now, then?"

He smiled. "How would you feel about going on a proper date?"

I nodded my head as he wiped away a stray tear from my eye. "Okay."

"Okay," he said with a smile. "You go get ready. I'll have the car brought around."

"Axe!" I exclaimed as the driver pulled up to the airport. "Where are we going?" I couldn't help the smile that was lighting up my face. Leave it to Axe to decide that a proper date meant getting on an airplane.

"That's a surprise, but I hope you packed a bikini," he said with a wink.

"What are you talking about?" I laughed. "I haven't packed anything!"

He exited the car to open my door. "No problem. We'll just get you a new wardrobe when we arrive."

"You're crazy," I said. I knew better than to fight with Axe about this sort of thing. Everything with him was lush and extravagant. I appreciated the effort he put into all of this just for me. I just worried that he thought it was the reason I was with him.

I hoped he understood that I wasn’t like the other models. The ones I could never get along with. I wasn’t looking for someone to buy the rest of my life. I wanted someone to spend the rest of my life with.

"For you, yes," he replied, and I blushed.
