He crashed back into me as we both caught our breaths and he ran a gentle finger down the side of my face. "You're incredible, Amy," he whispered, pulling me into him.
We laid there together in the silence of the room after it had been filled with our coupling. Finally, he moved his lips against my ear. “Can I tell you a secret?” he asked me.
I turned to face him and nodded. “Of course.”
“That first day, I bribed the hotel staff to give you my room key after seeing you at the opening ceremony.”
My eyes widened at his confession. “Why? You mean, after you embarrassed me for the first time?”
He nodded. “Yeah. Stupid right?”
I couldn’t stop the giggle that escaped my lips. “A little. Why’d you do it?”
He shook his head. “Don’t know. Never done something like that before. I guess I just wanted to be close to you any way I could.”
I didn’t know what to say back to that, but it didn’t feel like I needed to respond.
I let out a sigh and gave him a smile. He kissed my neck as his warmth surrounded me. As we drifted off to sleep, I tried to remind myself that Ethan Greene was still the enemy.

ETHAN
Light filtered in through the slightly opened curtains, and I blinked my eyes awake. It had been quite some time since I'd woken up feeling so refreshed. Amy was asleep next to me, and I rolled over and allowed myself a few moments to watch her rest.
She really was beautiful. Her hair was a complete mess, but the bright blonde hair looked like a halo spread out across the pillow. It scared me to think how easily I could get used to seeing her like this. How easily I could get used to her waking up next to me.
I wanted to let her sleep, but I also wanted to make sure she was taken care of. I rolled over and decided I would head down to the lobby, grab us some breakfast for the room, and also check on the flights with the receptionist.
I forced myself out of bed as quietly as possible so that she could sleep and put on enough clothes to be presentable. Normally, I would have made sure I was properly and fully dressed, in case someone snapped a photo of me. But, for the first time in a long time, I felt relaxed. Like I could just be myself and that was enough. It was a weird and wonderful feeling.
I closed the door behind me as quietly as possible, and with renewed confidence, made my way downstairs. I didn't want to be away from Amy for too long.

AMY
I awoke to the sound of buzzing coming from somewhere next to me. I sat up and felt completely disoriented. It took me a moment to remember just where I was.
I was in Ethan Greene's bed.
Well, his hotel bed, to be more precise.
But, I'd definitely spent the night with Ethan Greene.
My public enemy number one.
I shook my head and almost laughed at how much things had changed. I realized the buzzing that had woken me up had been my phone. I fished it out of my bathrobe pocket, before making my way over to my suitcase to throw on some clothes.
"Hello, this is Amy," I answered, not having enough time to see who was calling.
"Amy!" my boss said in an excited voice from the other side of the line. I pulled up my pants as I held the phone between my cheek and shoulder.
"Yeah? What is it?" I asked, a little surprised to be getting a happy phone call from the man I was sure was going to fire me tomorrow.
"I don't know what you did, but you're amazing!"
"Jeff, what are you talking about? Slow down. Start from the beginning."
