“Just today?” Her flirty smile turns my world upside down.
“No, not just today. But definitely right now. That red dress is doing its job. I’m a mess.”
“I know. You kept forgetting your lines.”
“Was I that obvious?”
“A little.”
“Well, I was more than a little enamored with you.”
Still am.
Jenna’s blush and smile combine together, adding to her charm. “At least Quinton is happy about it. We’re finally giving him chemistry.”
I walk around her body, leaning my shoulder against the wall next to where she stands. Her head follows my movement, two sultry green eyes staring back at me.
I understand what Quinton meant when he said he wanted us to have so much chemistry he could build a state-of-the-art chemistry lab. At this point, we could build ten chemistry labs with everything brewing between us.
“It’s good we hit our stride in time for these moments. It may be our last day of filming, but I think we got the hang of it now.” My foot shuffles closer in an attempt to ease the longing gripping my chest. I don’t even know what I’m longing for. Her body. Her mind. Her soul. I think I want it all.
“It’s good since we film the kiss next.” She turns her body toward me, leaning her shoulder against the wall as well.
I feel like I’m in the middle of a Mother, May I? game.
Mother, may I take one giant step toward Jenna?
Yes, you may.
I forge ahead another inch or two. “The infamous kiss.”
“Do you think it will go better this time around?”
“Is this your way of asking if I ate a garlic tuna fish sandwich at lunch?”
She laughs, gently letting her head fall back, and it’s all I can do not to dive forward and trail my lips down her neck.
“Did you eat a garlic tuna fish sandwich at lunch?”
I shake my head. “Not today.”
“That’s really good news for me.”
“And what about you?” My eyes fall over her bare shoulder and arm. “Are you experiencing any hives over kissing me?”
“Not today.” She takes a small step to me. “Although, who knows? We never did practice the kiss in Malibu.”
Practice? Heck, if she’d let me, I’d clear everything off the table across from us and practice the kiss right here and now. I’m confident it could hold the weight of both our bodies.
“Maybe we don’t need practice.” Another step forward, but this time, the toe of my shoe bumps into hers. “Maybe we just need to feel what our characters feel. Immerse ourselves in their emotions.”
“Like method acting?” She leans closer since there’s no more room to gain with our feet.
“Yeah.” I meet her halfway with a lean of my own. “You know, embody our roles with complete emotional assimilation.”
“So, you’re Trev.” She smiles. “And I’m Renna.”
“That’s right.”
