Charlie tucked his head against Dustin’s shoulder.
He didn’t say anything for a while, just let himself float in Dustin’s arms in the cool blue water. It was bright and sunny out still, but here inside, it was dim and private.
It felt like a quiet little oasis of calm and Charlie let out a contented sigh, suddenly very glad he’d said yes to this fake marriage.
“I kinda like you too, Dustin.”
Fowler and Monaghan Still Living in Wedded Bliss? Arents and Hanley Rekindled?
The honeymoon is far from over for Dustin Fowler and Charlie Monaghan. Although the whirlwind Vegas wedding of the Toronto Fisher Cats captain and former Olympic figure skater was months ago, it appears they’re still going strong.
They were spotted this past weekend canoodling on a yacht during a party to celebrate Matty Carlson’s thirty-second birthday. There was no shortage of PDA and numerous photos of the happy couple appeared on social media.
For all of the fan speculation that there was something suspect about the sudden wedding and excessive social media posting, it appears we may have been wrong.
In other Fisher Cats news, rumor has it defenseman Nico Arents and socialite-turned-influencer Skylar Hanley’s on-again, off-again relationship is firmly on at the moment.
Arents typically jets off to Europe for the summer, where he’s a guest DJ at an Amsterdam nightclub. Speculation indicates he’s stuck around Toronto for the off-season to be with his ex.
“He’s been very doting,” a source says. “Accompanying her on all of her errands and being very protective when fans get close.”
Although Hanley did not attend the yacht party with the team, she has been present at previous events. Might Arents be taking a lesson from his captain and starting to think about settling down?
Only time will tell but we here at JockGossip promise we’ll be the first to let you know all of the latest news on the playboy defenseman.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
As the guys stripped down to get ready for training, Nico let out a choked laugh. “Holy shit, D, were you mauled by a bear yesterday?”
“Nah,” Dustin said with a smug grin. “Just Charlie.”
“Damn.” Nico sounded impressed as he surveyed the marks on Dustin’s body. “Are you sure you don’t—”
“I swear to God, if you suggest joining my husband and I one more time, I will get your ass traded off this team,” Dustin said, but his tone was too cheerful for it to sound like much of a threat.
“Yeah, okay.”
“Isn’t the honeymoon period supposed to end eventually?” Matty asked with a laugh. “I mean, it’s been, what, two and a half months? Aren’t you supposed to get sick of each other eventually?”
But Dustin shook his head. He couldn’t imagine getting sick of having Charlie in his bed or his life.
“Is how you know person is right for you, no?” Macky asked, his Russian accent thick. They all lifted their heads to stare at him, because he was such a quiet guy, especially in the locker room. “Never get sick of each other. Still want, after years together.”
“So that’s why you have twelve children,” Matty exclaimed and the guys burst into laughter.
“Only five,” Macky protested indignantly. “Not even whole hockey team yet.”
More laughter followed and they finished dressing and headed straight for the ice.
The guys were buzzing on the ice today but by the end of training, Dustin was gassed.
“Shit,” he said, bending over and breathing hard.
His legs were cramping and he was more winded than he should be. He’d felt sluggish all morning.
“Aww, next time maybe take it a little easier with the hubby,” Matty said teasingly. “Or we’re gonna have to separate you two before games.”
Dustin shot him the finger. “I’d have been fine if you hadn’t kept shoving drinks at me during your birthday party,” he protested.
