“She?” Brett asked with wide eyes.

“Oh, I don’t know for sure it’s a girl. They can’t tell this early I don’t think. I’m just…I don’t know. I just said it.”

Boy. Girl. Thea didn’t have a preference.

“I kinda hope it’s a girl.” He gave her a playful grin. “Then, I can spoil two ladies.”

“You would be in so much trouble. We already have two boys growing up on the ranch.”

Brett’s eyes widened. “They can be like big brothers, but that’s all.”

Thea laughed and reached for the door. “Good luck with that.”

Brett jumped out of the truck and met her at the bottom of the porch steps. “Seriously, they can’t have my little girl.”

Thea pressed a hand to his chest. “Relax. She isn’t even born yet. You have years before this is even an issue.”

Brett’s strong arm wrapped around her, pulling her in. She melted against him and met his kiss as the world stopped spinning around them.

He was going to be the best dad. He was already the best husband and friend.

Thea’s head swirled in dizziness as Brett pulled away. She hummed through a smile. “I love you.”

“I loved you first.” He rubbed a big circle over her stomach. “And I love this little one too.”

Jerking her head toward the door, Thea grabbed his hand, pulling him behind her. “Let’s go meet the new babies.”

Linc

Linc walked into the stables and scanned the arena for Jess. He’d gotten stuck doing inventory in the storage shed and pack room all day, which meant he was thoroughly bored.

And missing the woman who’d been on his mind all day.

Who was he kidding. She’d been on his mind for years, but the jolt of pure excitement in his veins when he remembered she was his wife hadn’t faded.

A soft light shone out of her open office, and he directed his course toward it. Thankfully, the barn seemed empty, and he could greet her the way he wanted.

He stepped inside and made his way over to her. Jess looked up with tired eyes, but they lifted at the corners with her smile.

“Hey, handsome.”

He rounded the desk full of papers and reached for her hands. Pulling her to her feet, he slid his hands around her waist and wrapped her up.

“Hey, gorgeous.” He dipped his chin and pressed his mouth to hers.

It took her half a second to catch up, but when she did, everything clicked into place. Her body fit perfectly against his, and her kiss matched his need with every movement.

He’d never get enough of this–enough of her. He’d be seeking her out and pouring his love into her every chance he got.

What else was he supposed to do with the unquenchable emotions she stirred up in him? Sometimes, he wondered if she’d ever understand the magnitude of his love for her.

He peppered small kisses over her jaw and down her neck, breathing in her unique scent. It wasn’t flowers or fruit. It was Jess.

It washis. Just like her.

“Did you have a good day?” she asked.

“It was fine,” he breathed against her neck. “Better now.”
