He didn’t need to say it, but it feels good to hear.

“Get in the shower before I’m tempted to lick you clean.”

He raises an eyebrow. “Well, that second thing sounds like a much sexier way to get cleaned up.”

“Save that energy for the next wave of our Omegas’ heat.”

He nods slowly. “Right. Right. I don’t want to be to blame for our Alpha’s lackluster performance.”

“Stop trying to make me prove my prowess. You have other mates to take care of, too.”

Leaning in, I lick a drop of cum off his chest.

His gaze is heated when I look up at him.

“Get in the shower, Kent.”

He does what I ask, and I try to remind myself I have too many responsibilities to let this shower last all night. Yet, the second he drags me under the stream with him, I let him pull me into a slow, searing kiss. We have a lot of lost time to make up for, and I know I can never deny him.

I made him wait this long through my oblivious stupidity.

I don’t want to say no to anything he asks of me now.

Chapter Eighty-One

Russ

I’ve lost track of how many times things have happened on this island that made it feel like I’m living out the sexiest dream I’ve ever had, but being pinned down on the bathroom floor by my extremely well-hung Alpha, and being marked at the same time has to be the cherry on the cake.

Every dream I’ve had about him claiming me has nothing on how it actually happened.

My ass feels a little raw now, because fuck is he big, but I would open my legs for him again whenever the fuck he wanted.

He doesn’t break our kiss in the shower. He holds me closer and kisses back as if he’s never going to get the chance to feel my lips against his ever again. It’s hotter than I ever imagined it was going to be, and I’ve imagined how it would be so many times over the years that it shouldn’t be anywhere close to this exciting now that it’s finally become a reality.

Eventually, I let him go, because I know we have a lot more to think about than losing ourselves in each other. Zoey’s going to need him when she wakes up and her heat makes her desperate for his knot all over again. She wants us both involved in servicing her heat, and I like how much she loves watching me with my other mates.

We wash ourselves clean, taking our time. Then we dry off before we clean up the oil-soaked towels lying in the middle of the floor.

I touch my new mark as Archer turns off the water.

There’s no hiding what we mean to each other now.

I seriously doubt we’re going back to our old jobs when we leave the island.

“I’m guessing you trust Zane now?” I ask.

“Zelena made me think about that differently. The truth is, if Zane hadn’t stolen her away, she might have gotten really sick from the effects of delaying her heat. He saved her, and she’s been helping me to think about a lot of things in different ways. I’m not sure I could have broken the rules to spend time with her if none of this had happened. I’m glad it did.”

“I’m glad, too.”

It changed everything for the better. For Zoey, for us, for Zane, and Dale and Cameron.

“We have a pack now,” I tell him. “A big one.”

He nods slowly. “We’ve got a lot to figure out together.”

“I’m sure we’ll manage.”
