One glimpse at Zane, and I know he’s on board for basically anything. He’s waited so long for us to be together that he doesn’t care what the conditions are. He’ll more than meet me halfway. He’s still feeling aroused, despite the interruption and being threatened by the other Alpha.

In fact, I think he might have kind of liked it when Archer ordered him to get away from me.

Archer, on the other hand … well he’s a closed book. His dark eyes give nothing away.

He breathes in slowly, through his mouth, and I can tell he’s trying to hide how badly my perfume is affecting him.

He’s full of relief right now, but there are brighter and darker emotions under that surface level, and it feels like both are fighting to get out. I can guess what the spark of jealousy is about. The sizzling lust is pretty obvious, too. Everything else is too buried to pry out into the open.

I try to push down what I’m feeling to let my brain take back over.

It’s too easy to get lost in sensation, and right now I need to be able to talk in coherent sentences.

Archer doesn’t know the truth about me, and I doubt he knows anything about Zane or Dale.

He needs to know they aren’t criminals he has to protect me from.

I touch the metal countertop to ground myself. Cooling my fingers down helps me to think while my body still feels buzzed and ready to be on the go. I can pretend I’m getting ready to perform, if I ignore the way my slick is soaking through the sweats.

“This isn’t what you think,” I start, my attention breaking when the doors open and Russ walks into the room. He rushes toward me, and I can’t help the grin that breaks out as he lifts me into a hug that takes my feet off the ground for a few breathless seconds. The lighter than air sensation keeps me smiling as he places me back down, no longer facing the Alphas in the room.

“Are you good?” he asks, his hands going to my cheeks as he searches my face.

“I’m better than good,” I assure him.

“Your perfume,” he murmurs, smiling back at me. “It came out for Archer?”

Ah. He thinks this is all for his Alpha. I hate to burst his bubble. I really do.

But I can’t pretend I don’t have two more mates here.

I guess it’s time to see who can handle that.

“I need to explain something.”

I take his hand and lead him closer to where Archer has Zane’s hands tied behind his back.

“Do you want to tell them, or should I?” Zane asks.

“I should probably tell them,” I murmur.

“Tell us what?” Archer asks, his voice tight.

Oh, God. Being this close to them is sensation overload.

The way my clit throbs and my pussy clenches for my Alphas is damn hard to ignore, but I manage to hold back the moan that starts to rise up my throat. I swallow hard and take in a slow, steadying breath. I give myself a second, and then I speak.

“I have four true mates,” I blurt out, closing my eyes and holding my breath after it’s out there.

When I dare to open my eyes, a few tense seconds later, I see Archer frowning at Russ, and Zane shaking his head in amusement. His green eyes are sparkling.

“Whatever he did to you …” Archer starts, a warning tone in his gravelly voice.

“He didn’t do anything,” I insist, shaking my head.

“Whatever he did,” Archer starts again, “we’ll find a way to undo it.”

Undo what? I blink at him and look at Russ. “What does he mean?”
