“How are you going to take care of it if they’re closed?” Conner asked.

“I have to find a local printing company that’s open now.”

“Hold on. Let me call Selena and see where she ordered her wedding invitations. If I remember correctly, they were located in downtown Los Angeles,” Shaun said as he pulled out his phone. “Selena is sending you the link to the website right now. They’re open until seven p.m.”

My phone pinged with a text message from Selena.

“Hi, Christian. The company is called Ink Perfection. Here’s the link to their website. Good luck.”

“Thank you, Selena. I appreciate it.”

I glanced at my watch, and it was six p.m.

“Thanks, Shaun. I’ll talk to you guys later.”

“I can go with you,” Conner said.

“I’ve got this. Thanks, bro.”

“You’ll never make it in time with the traffic,” Shaun said as I opened the sliding door.

“I will on my bike.” The corners of my mouth curved upward as I stepped out of the house.

Running back to my house, I grabbed one of the invitations, climbed on my bike, and headed to Ink Perfection. Traffic was a bitch as usual, but I made it with thirty minutes to spare.

“Can I help you?” A young man looked up as I stepped inside. “Dr. Chase?”

“It’s Dr. Kind now.” I gave him an odd look, for he looked very familiar to me.

“You probably don’t remember me, but you gave my father a new heart back in Seattle.”

“Calvin, right?” I smiled.

“Yes. That’s right.”

I extended my hand. “It’s good to see you again. How is your father doing?”

“He’s doing well. Thanks to you, he and my mother are living their best lives now. I heard you moved to Los Angeles. I didn’t know you changed your last name.” He shook my hand.

“It’s a complicated story.” I smirked. “I took my birth name.”

“Ah, okay. Anyway, what can I do for you?”

I handed him the wedding invitation. “Can you duplicate this invitation? My fiancée ordered these, and I opened them today, and as you can see, I’m not Jarod.”

“Oh no.” He shook his head. “Do you have the picture of the two of you on your phone?”

“Yes, I do.”

“I’ll give you my number, and I want you to text it to me. Is all the other information correct?”

“Yes. Everything is right except for our names.”

“And what is your fiancée’s name?” Calvin asked.

“Charleigh.” I spelled it out for him. “Christian & Charleigh. How fast can you get it done?”

“How many invitations would you like to order?”
