We both opened our gifts at the same time. When I flipped the lid open, I looked at Charleigh.
“This is the watch I was looking at when we were in Cartier.” I smiled.
“And this is the necklace I was eyeing. I didn’t even tell you I wanted this.”
“I know, but I saw you keep going back and looking at it.”
“I love it, Christian.” She reached over and kissed my lips. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome, babe. I love this watch.” I took it out of the box and placed it on my wrist. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome. I have another present for you, but it’s kind of big, so I’ll go get it.”
When she went to get up, I grabbed her hand. “Open the rest of your presents first.” I smiled as I handed her the rest.
After she opened them and thanked me by planting a million kisses all over my face, she went to the garage. My brows furrowed because I couldn’t imagine what she had bought me. Suddenly, she returned to the living room carrying a surfboard with a huge red bow.
“Merry Christmas, Christian.” A wide grin crossed her face.
I sat there in shock for a moment. “Charleigh. Oh my God.” I stood up and took the surfboard from her.
“I had it custom-made for you. Do you like it?”
“I love it, sweetheart,” I said as I examined it.
“The creator is a patient of mine. He’s one of the best in California. All the guys got new surfboards for Christmas.”
“My God, this had to take months to make.”
“Just a few.” I smiled.
“I love you so much.” I hugged her tight. “I can’t wait to put this in the water.”
“You boys can play with your new toys later. I love you too.”
“You know I’m going to miss you, right?” I pouted.
“I’ll miss you too. But you know I have to go.”
“I know.” I sighed. “You’ll have fun.” I kissed her. “Remember, I knew nothing about this.”
“I know.” She smiled as she tapped my nose. “I’m so lucky that I have an amazing boss that let me take the time off. I think maybe we should go upstairs so I can show my boss how grateful I am.” She smiled.
I swooped down and picked her up. “Bed or shower?” I asked.
“Shower.” Her lips pressed against mine.
CHAPTER7
Christian
We all gathered around the living room at Aunt Barb’s house and exchanged presents. She wanted to host it since it was her first Christmas in her new home. She hired a chef to cook Christmas dinner, which didn’t sit well with Sebastian.
“I don’t trust that guy,” Sebastian leaned over and whispered in my ear. “I think he’s overcooking the turkey.”
“You’re still salty about the whole Christmas dinner thing?” I chuckled.
“Yeah, I am. I told my mother I would cook, and she insisted that I take the day off and let someone else do the cooking.”
