“Mom, don’t.”

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. There couldn’t be a more perfect date.”

“Congratulations, you two.” My dad smiled. “Three months isn’t very long to plan a wedding.”

“It can and will be done,” I said.

“And it will be fabulous.” My mom smiled. “Oh my gosh, that doesn’t give me much time to find a dress.”

“Don’t worry about that, Mom. Jenni will help you. Christian and I are headed to dinner, so we’ll talk to you when you return from your trip. Tell Aunt Katrina I said hi.”

“I will, baby. We’re so happy for both of you. Talk soon.”

“Bye, Mom. Bye, Dad.”

“Enjoy the rest of your trip.” Christian smiled.

CHAPTER4

Christian

After Charleigh and I returned from dinner, I grabbed a beer from the fridge and headed down to the beach.

“I’ll be down in a few.” Charleigh smiled as I opened the sliding door.

“Okay, babe.” I winked.

When I got down to the bonfire, everyone was waiting.

“Where’s Charleigh?” Conner asked as I sat down next to him.

“She’ll be down in a minute.”

“Did you get the tree decorated?” Nathan asked.

“Um, we got distracted.” A grin crossed my lips. “And then we went and grabbed some dinner.”

“Distracted, eh?” Jackson smiled.

“There she is.” Conner smiled as Charleigh took a seat on my lap.

Wrapping my arms around her, I held her tight.

“Well?” Simon said. “Are you going to give us the date or what?”

“As soon as Aunt Barb gets here,” I said.

“I’m here.” Aunt Barb walked over. “But I only have a few minutes.”

“Why’s that, Mom?” Simon asked as he held Nora.

“Because I have a date.”

“With whom?” Simon’s brows furrowed.

“That’s none of your business. So, you two, spit it out. When are you getting married?”

“Charleigh and I are getting married in the Crystal Gardens on March 16th.” I smiled.
