After the instructors went over everything with us, it was time to get up in the air.
“I can’t believe we let you talk us into this,” Stefan said.
“Right?” Conner looked at him.
“Do not disappoint me, bro,” Simon said as he pointed at Stefan.
“Me either.” Jackson pointed at Conner.
The ride up to the sky was calm as everyone was silent, and only the hum of the plane’s engine could be heard. I could already feel the adrenaline soar through me as we reached altitude. One of the instructors walked us through the jump one last time before the door opened, and it was time to take that life-changing leap. The green light appeared, signaling us to jump. Since Grayson, Gabriel, and I knew how to skydive, we jumped first.
“See you in the sky.” I smiled at my brothers and cousins as I jumped out of the plane, with Grayson and Gabriel following behind.
An exhilarating feeling tore through me as the rush of wind gripped me. Grayson smiled as he gave me a thumbs up, and we flew through the sky. Besides the adrenaline, the best part for me was the breathtaking views from the sky. It was time to deploy our parachutes and make our descent to the ground.
“This is fucking amazing!” Simon shouted as he steered his parachute next to mine. “Holy shit.”
Once we landed, I looked over at Conner.
“You did it.” I grinned. “How do you feel?”
“I have no words.” The corners of his mouth curved upward.
We took off our gear and stepped onto the party bus. My heart was still racing from the excitement as I sat down. Gabriel and Shaun opened the cooler and handed each of us a bottle of beer.
“That was unlike anything I’ve ever done in my life,” Stefan said.
“It sure was.” Sam grinned. “I wouldn’t mind going again sometime.”
“I think it’s safe to say that we’d all do it again in a heartbeat,” Shaun said.
“We better call the girls and tell them we’re okay. I promised Charleigh I would.” I pulled out my phone and dialed her.
“You’re alive!” she answered.
“Of course I am.” I laughed. “We all are, babe.”
“So, how was it?”
“Amazing, exhilarating, breathtaking,” I said.
“I’m happy you had fun. I’ll see you later tonight. I love you.”
“I love you too, babe.” I ended the call.
The party bus dropped us off at the brewhouse for the rest of the evening. Sebastian closed it down for the rest of my bachelor party. Some of my friends from the hospital as well as Curtis, Mark, and Charleigh’s dad, Gordy, joined us. We ate, drank, played cards, and had great conversations.
“To my twin brother Christian.” Conner held up his glass of scotch. “One week from today, we’ll be standing next to you on the beach as you and Charleigh say your vows to each other, and we couldn’t be happier for you. As much as I’d love to stand here and say this will be the last Kind wedding until our children get married, I can’t.” He looked over at Grayson and Gabriel.
“Stop that.” Gabriel pointed at him.
“Yeah, Conner. Stop it,” Grayson spoke, and we all laughed.

The following morning, I slowly opened my eyes and noted the IV I was hooked up to. When I got home last night, Charleigh must have hooked me up to ward off my hangover. Pulling the IV out, I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and looked at the time. It was noon. I climbed out of bed, pulled on a pair of jersey shorts, and went downstairs.
“You’re up.” Charleigh grinned.
