“It takes a village, cousin.” Simon placed his hand on my shoulder. “It’s not just yours and Charleigh’s wedding. It’s all of ours, and we will stop at nothing to make it perfect for both of you.”
When I got home, I went upstairs and found Charleigh lying in the bubbly bathtub with a washcloth over her eyes.
“You’re up. Good, because I need to talk to you,” I said as I stripped out of my clothes.
“What are you doing?” Charleigh asked.
“Getting in with you.”
“Christian, I love you, but I—”
“No buts.” I smiled as I climbed on the other side, laid back, and faced her.
“Why are you over there? You never sit over there.”
“Because I want to talk to you face to face.”
“I would have gotten out if you would have asked,” she said.
“Would you of though?” I arched my brow at her.
A small smile framed her beautiful face.
“There’s my girl. Okay, Charleigh Ellis, listen up. I found a place for us to get married and have our reception.”
“Where?” she asked.
“Here.” I smiled.
“You want us to get married here? At our home?”
“Well, technically, yes, but we wouldn’t get married at the house. We’ll get married on the beach and have the reception there.”
“A wedding and reception for three hundred people, Christian?”
“Yeah, babe. The entire family was at Conner’s, and we all discussed it. We just need your final approval. Our entire beach will be transformed into a wedding oasis.”
“So, I can sink in my heels walking down the sand to you?” Her brow arched.
“You don’t need to worry about that. It’s covered. And Conner suggested having a sunset wedding.”
“That would be so romantic.” The corners of her mouth softly curved upward.
“See, you’re loving the idea already. Get over here.” I held out my arms.
She scooted over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck as mine wrapped around her back.
“Sam is drawing up the design now and will come over in the morning to go over it with us. Shaun’s got a tent guy, a valet guy, and a parking lot guy.” I smiled. “I’ll call Giuseppe tomorrow and tell him our plan. He’s going to love decorating the beach for us. We’ll call the DJ and Gwen and let them know. Design a new invitation, and I’ll run the design over to Calvin at Ink Perfection. He’ll get them printed in a few hours, and the girls said they will help address them all and get them sent out.”
Charleigh stared at me for a moment as her eyes swelled with tears.
“Babe?”
“It sounds perfect, Christian. I can envision it, and I love it.”
I let out a sigh of relief. “Are you sure?”
“I’m one hundred percent sure.” She grinned. “Come on.” She stood up.
