“You’re supposed to get married in three weeks. You’ll never get a venue in time.”
“Don’t worry. Between my family and I, we’ll come up with something.”
After Jillian left, I poured myself a scotch and pulled my dinner out of the warming oven. After I ate, I went upstairs to check on Charleigh. When I walked into the room, she stirred and opened her eyes.
“Hi.” I smiled as I sat on the edge of the bed and ran my hand down her cheek.
“Hi.”
“I’m heading over to Conner’s, and I’d like you to come with me.”
“No. I’m not getting out of bed. I’m too tired.”
“Okay. Go back to sleep then.” I leaned down and kissed her forehead. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” She closed her eyes.
CHAPTER22
Christian
I stepped through the sliding door at Conner’s, where everyone was gathered in the living room.
“Where’s Charleigh?” Nathan asked.
“She’s sleeping. Mr. Russo called, and the wedding can’t happen there. Besides closing down to repair the hotel, they’re also launching an arson investigation.”
“What the fuck?” Simon said.
“The wedding is in three weeks, and I need to find a place just as special as the Crystal Gardens and Ballroom.” I sighed.
“You can always have it at Four Kinds,” Sebastian said. “I’ll close down the restaurant, and we’ll make it work.”
“I appreciate it, cousin, but we need a dance floor and more space.”
“I have some connections,” Shaun said. “I can try to find you a place.”
“There’s no way we’ll find something on such short notice,” Julia spoke.
“We need something, and we need it now,” Jenni said. “We have to let people know. And not just the guests either.”
I sighed as I put my hands in my pocket, walked over to the sliding door, and stared out at the water.
“What about here?” I turned and looked at my family.
“At my house?” Conner’s brow arched.
“No, bro. The beach? We can get married on the beach.”
“Oh, my God!” Jenni exclaimed. “What a great idea. Why didn’t we think of that?”
“The beach is big enough for a huge white tent for the reception,” Shaun said.
“I can design the space,” Sam said.
“And I can build it,” Stefan spoke.
“Build what?” Simon asked. “Rent a tent, and the company comes out and puts it up.”
