Charleigh walked over and said she was heading home. I stood up, said goodnight to my brothers and cousins, and walked back with her.
“Christian,” she spoke as we walked through the sliding door.
“Yeah, babe?” I turned and looked at her.
“We’re going to have a baby.”
My heart started pounding out of my chest.
“What?” My brows furrowed. “Charleigh are—”
“Oh God, no. I don’t mean now.”
I let out a breath as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“I mean in the future. I’ve been thinking all week about what Lucy said when she had her appointment with me.”
“What did she say?” I slowly ran my hands up and down her back.
“She said she had a life plan before her heart went bad and wasn’t going to let her transplant take the dream of her having a family away. I almost ruined us before with my fears, and I’m not going to do it again. I want a baby with you, Christian, and I know I’ll be in the best possible care during and after my pregnancy.”
“I love you so much.” I brushed my lips against hers.
“I love you too.”
The sliding door opened, and Grayson walked in. He immediately covered his eyes.
“I’m sorry if I’m interrupting something.”
“You’re not.” I laughed.
“I’m heading upstairs to take a bath. There’s room for one more if you’re interested.” A beautiful smile graced her face.
“I’ll be up in a few, babe. See what you’re missing.” I smirked at Grayson.
“If you’re referring to sex, I am missing it. If you’re referring to a relationship, no.”
“Okay.” I patted his back. “Goodnight. Don’t forget. Six a.m. tomorrow morning, we’re hitting the waves.”
“I’ll be up. Don’t worry.”
The following morning, Grayson and I got up, grabbed our boards, and hit the water.
“It’s party day.” Simon grinned. “The day we officially welcome our cousins to the beach.”
“You guys didn’t have to do that,” Gabriel said.
“Sure, we did,” Sam spoke.
“Any excuse to throw a big party.” Shaun smiled.
“I thought you guys partied every weekend,” Grayson said.
“Not big parties like the one we’re having today,” Stefan said.
After we surfed, Grayson and I went back to the house.
“Morning, babe.” I smiled as I walked over to Charleigh and kissed her.
