“Which color shows the invisibility spell?” I ask.
“Um, it’s a charm so purple.”
There’s so much purple over the map, it might as well be everywhere.
“The memory spell will be white,” Shannon says. “So, you’re looking for a spot with both colors.”
“There’ll be a knock-out spell, too which is probably purple,” Cheryl says. “Charms can last a pretty long time.”
“If he intends that, he must have a healing spell, too. Something to keep her healthy.” Rachel looks around and points out a spot where all three colors converge. “Here.”
“There’s a spot over here, too,” Shannon points out.
I look at the areas they’re pointing at.
“It’s that one.” I know for sure as soon as I see where it is.
Rachel’s eyes widen and she nods. “Her dorm room.”
“Can you take me?” I ask.
She nods. “Let’s go.”
Chapter fifty
Sean
Standingoverthebed,I watch Amanda sleep. I’ve never tried to wake someone in a dream before, but I know Jake is going to show up any second, and I have to try to explain what’s going on.
“Amanda,” I say softly, crouching down beside her and touching her face.
She smiles before her pretty eyes open. “Jake, I …”
She trails off with a gasp when she sees I’m not him.
It stings to watch her jerk away from my touch, even knowing why.
I move my hand. “Amanda, you need to wake up.”
She frowns at me. “I’m awake, and I don’t know who you are, or what you’re doing here, but you’re not supposed to be in this room.”
“No,” I tell her. “You’re not supposed to be here. You’re my true mate, Amanda. You make my heart beat. We’re bonded. Tell me you feel it.”
She stares at me, her face starting to flush. “You’re an Alpha.”
Fuck. He’s completely erased me from her memories. There’s nothing there for her to hold onto.
“I’myourAlpha. That’s why I’m here. This is a dream. Jake trapped you in it.”
“That’s crazy. Why would he do that?”
“Because he rejected you, and he realized it was a mistake.”
“If he realized, then why wouldn’t he just speak to me about it?”
“You met us, and you moved on. He knew he’d never win your heart back.”
“Us?” she asks, before she shakes her head. “No. That’s not …”
