“What was that?” I ask.

“I’m your coven leader, Amanda. You can use Freya’s magic.”

“I can?”

Now I know this place must be the dream. My mates are impossibly gorgeous, and I have magic? No freaking way is any of this stuff real.

I put my hand under the stream again, and I can feel the magic coming out of the water, transferring to me. I feel it recharging me, giving me a boost of energy.

“Oh, Goddess, this feels good.”

The witch smiles at me. “We’re bonded as coven sisters. If you try to create what we decided on as an emblem, I’ll ask our third to do the same thing when you meet her, and you’ll see they match.”

“Our emblem?” I ask, as I turn off the water.

“The symbol we use to identify our coven.”

I put my hands out and ask for the emblem.

A white rose appears, filling my hands.

I don’t think I’ve seen one this perfect in real life.

I let my hands drop, and the rose disappears, as if it never existed.

I realize in that moment that I don’t need to be afraid.

If this is a dream, I’ll wake up when it’s over.

If it’s not, then I don’t have anything to lose.

Chapter fifty-four

ItfeelslikeAmanda’sready to take off when I get to the room, and I do what I can to keep her calm before I bring the rest of our pack out into the hall for a quick assessment of the situation.

Parker looks like he’s devastated, and Dante’s definitely picking up on our Beta’s vibe.

“She doesn’t remember us,” Parker murmurs.

“Rachel spelled her to tell the truth and she can’t say that Jake’s her mate. It’s a start.” Dante’s at least trying to see the positive side.

“What do we do?” Parker asks, looking like he always used to whenever he seriously needed to let off some steam. Somehow, I don’t think my usual orders to go for a run will be helpful this time.

“Magic’s involved, so I’ll have to talk options with Rachel and Cheryl. There must be a way to undo what he’s done to her. Dante, could you find a book with a reversal spell for this?”

He nods slowly. “There were probably a few in the book I was reading before. I’m assuming you got the book unlocked to find the witch. How did that happen?”

“Cheryl realized it was charm magic. There was a charm inside the book. Some of the pages were hollowed out.”

“Charm magic? That’s crazy.”

“What about him?” Parker asks, his venomous tone making it obvious who he’s talking about.

“He threatened our pack, so we’ll deal with him,” I assure my Beta. “Just not right now.”

“Why the hell not?” Parker’s eyes flash, showing his wolf is rising.
