Someone knocked on her door, and her eyes flicked to the clock. Two minutes after ten. Luca was nothing if not punctual. Something she’d always liked about him.

After confirming it was him through the peephole, she swung the door open and smiled. But the greeting didn't have time to make it past her lips before he had her back against the door, his mouth fused to hers.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and drank him in, skimming her tongue along his lower lip, tangling it with his until he groaned. His hands roamed under her shirt, squeezing her breasts through her bra and pinching her nipples with his fingers.

When he eased her shirt up over her stomach, she pushed his hand back down and pulled away. “Wait.”

“I’ve waited five days. The wait is over.”

She grinned, tilting her head for his lips, sighing when they skimmed over the scar on her neck without flinching. “Luca. I have information for you.”

“Later,” he murmured against her skin, nipping it with his teeth.

“I can’t. I left my program open to answer the door. I have to go close it before I let you haul me off to bed for a few hours.”

He went still against her, and she felt a puff of air against her neck when he huffed out an irritated breath. Sliding his hand down her stomach and over her hip, he took her hand and laced his fingers with hers.

“Fine. Hurry up and show me, and then I’m taking you to bed.”

“I thought you came here for information,” she said, leading him down the hallway into her office.

Before she could cross the space to her desk, he tugged her back against his chest, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and leaning down to whisper in her ear. “I came here for you. The information is merely a bonus that means I won’t have to hide you for much longer.”

She turned her head to look up at him. “Is that what you want? To not have to hide me?”

“That’s the only thing I ever wanted.” He pressed a quick kiss to her jaw. “Now. Show me what you found so I can get you naked.”

He nudged her forward, leaning over her shoulder when she dropped into the desk chair. She handed him the list of shipments she’d written on a scrap piece of paper.

“This is perfect, baby girl. He already moved the shipment we were going to hit next week. We would have wasted time and resources. Any chance he’ll move it again?”

“Probably not, but if you tell me which one, I can monitor it. There’s something else I wanted to show you, though.”

She opened the files she’d saved, and he frowned.

“I thought you said bribing the politicians would be a waste of time.”

“Not a waste of time. I said you had to be careful. Besides, even if you choose not to use any of this, it doesn’t mean we can’t ruin a few careers before we’re done.”

She queued up the information in a slideshow, rapidly scrolling through each photo, each piece of damning evidence that could bring anyone down. Even on an island known for its corruption.

“Shit,” Luca breathed. “I figured the mayor and the chief of police. But Restivo is news to me. Did any of them help cover up your family?”

She nodded, tapping the keys and bringing up two photos side-by-side. “Restivo and Carollo.”

“The president just got reelected too.”

“I know. My uncle contributed quite a bit of money to his reelection campaign. The fucker.”

Luca kissed the side of her neck, eyes flicking to the screen to watch as she carefully backed out of the system, double-checked that the logs reflected Isa’s information, and closed her program. That had been a resounding success in almost every way.

Chapter Fifteen

When she turned to look at Luca, he was standing a few paces away, staring at her intently. She was suddenly self-conscious, pulling her hair forward to cover her neck out of habit. He frowned before his eyes drifted back to her face, and his expression softened.

“I knew you could do that before. That you were good at it. But knowing it and watching it are two different things. You’re a wonder, Sienna. Can I get you naked now?”

She laughed, pushing away from her desk and crossing to him. She stopped close enough that there was space between them, but her body brushed his each time she moved. Reaching down to the hem of her shirt, she tugged it up and off, dropping it on the floor.
