He raised an eyebrow at me. “Since when are you Team Vaughn? I thought it was you and me against the world?”
“You left me for dead in the middle of a run.”
“I don’t like cold water.”
“So Vaughn said. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.”
“Which are we?”
I shrugged nonchalantly. “Remains to be seen.”
He clutched his heart dramatically, spun around a couple of times, and then collapsed back on my bed. “Your words wound, Little Demon.”
“You’re making my blankets all wet!”
He stuck his arms and legs out like he was making a snow angel and waved them back and forth, wiping his wet body all over my bed.
I was sure the look I shot his way should have sent him to an early grave, but he just flipped onto his belly, leaning on his arms to watch me. “Your leg hurt?”
“No, I just rub it like this because the skill transfers over to seasoning chicken breast.”
He sniggered and pushed my hands away. “Let me do it. I give great massages.”
“What makes you think I don’t?”
“Your hands are too small. Big hands make for better massages. It’s just a fact.”
I shoved my aching leg in his direction. “Fine. Prove it.”
“Lie on your belly. Let me get some oil.”
“Don’t have any.”
“I do.”
“For jacking off with?”
“I find strawberry-flavored lube preferable for jacking off actually.”
I raised an eyebrow with a laugh. “Why does the flavor matter in that situation? Hmm?”
He scowled at me. “On your belly, Roach.”
I wagged a finger at him. “Nuh-uh. Only Vaughn is allowed to call me that.”
He grabbed a bottle of body lotion from my bedside table. “Fine. I can make do with this.”
I rolled over onto my belly, and he squirted lotion all over the back of my strained calf.
With slow, practiced fingers, he kneaded the tight muscle.
I squirmed in pain, trying to get away, but he pinned me to the bed. “Hold still. You’ll thank me once it stops hurting and starts to feel good.”
I gritted my teeth, but soon enough, I found he was right. The strained muscle eased, and his touch became pleasurable.
Maybe a little too pleasurable.
His fingers worked their way up the back of my leg, moving away from my sore spot and up my bare thigh.
