"What?" I raised an eyebrow in feigned surprise.
"It feels like you're mad at me."
And he was right. I was furious. "Of course not," I lied, trying to mask my true emotions.
He chuckled. "You are. I can tell. What did I do wrong this time?"
"Nothing," I replied tersely, my frustration seeping through.
"Is this because I told her your name?" Logan casually brought up the subject, and our gazes locked once again.
"Why did you?" I responded sharply.
"So it is about that. It wasn't like that—"
"Then how was it?" I interrupted.
"I didn't mention your name to her for no reason. It just sort of came up naturally when we spoke earlier."
"Of course it did," I rolled my eyes. "You guys must be pretty close. That's nice." I said dripping with sarcasm.
Logan frowned. "Listen, I didn't mean to offend you. I don't even see how that was supposed to offend you," he enunciated, leaning forward in his seat.
"I'm not offended," I retorted, the tone of my voice betraying me and I lowered my voice. "I really don't care, just don't involve me with whatever is going on between the two of you."
"What is that supposed to mean?" he quirked a brow.
"Don't play dumb, Logan. I'm not stupid. I can see her flirting with you every chance we get—"
"So? Does that mean that there's something going on between us? Do you see me flirt back? What does that even have to do with anything?" he quizzed.
Everything! I wanted to shout. I was so fucking mad, but instead I said. "Of course you'd say that. Just forget it."
"Are you jealous?" The question dropped from his lips like a bomb swallowing the entire conversation and everything went quiet.
I scoffed. "You're kidding right? Jealous? Why would you ask me that? Why the hell would I be jealous—why? It doesn't make any sense."
"Then why are you mad about her flirting with me?"
"I'm not! Who says I am! I don't care!" I shouted.
"But you somehow mentioned it," he pointed out, waiting for a response.
"I was just pointing it out."
"Why? What's the point if you don't care?"
I bit my lips. He was frustrating me. "I'm not going to argue."
"Okay. Why are you mad at me?" He asked.
I can honestly think of a lot of reasons. "I can name a number of reasons. Just forget it. I don't wanna talk about it so you can just go talk to your new friend."
"See?" he pointed out. "Clearly, you're not jealous."
He shook his head and actually left the room. What an asshole?
