“How long is this ride?” Theo asked.
“Two hours,” Daisy told him. “I bet we both get a numb butt, but since neither of us sits much at our jobs we’ll be good tomorrow.”
He loved how she could joke about those things.
“I thought you sat at your job more than me,” he said.
“I could, but I try to stand. I don’t need it to get any wider than it is.”
She wiggled her butt at him like a red flag to a charging bull. “You’re perfect,” he said.
“Like your sisters say you are,” she said, winking at him.
He’d told her some more about his family. He found it odd since he wasn’t one to do that with anyone he dated for a while let alone two weeks.
But he’d felt so comfortable around her. Maybe because she did remind him of Harmony at times.
“They are just jealous,” he said, tugging on her ponytail. She only had stud earrings in today and no other jewelry but her daisy ring. “Where are your accessories?”
“I don’t need things getting in the way today. I don’t ever want to need advice like Coco Channel used to say.”
“What’s that?” he asked. He knew who Coco Channel was but not much more.
“That before you leave the house for the day, look in the mirror and remove one thing from your outfit. I just don’t ever want to be that person that is out in public trying to be someone I’m not.”
“I only see you. I think other people are envious.”
She laughed. “It’s a nice thought but highly unlikely. Oh, looks as if it’s ride time. Maybe we’ll get two in today.”
He frowned at her and she laughed even louder. There was a joke there he was sure.

Pay The Price
“My butt isn’t too numb,” Daisy said when they were about thirty minutes from Theo’s house. “I expected it to be much worse. I think my thighs hurt more.”
“Because you were trying not to let your butt hit the saddle,” he said.
She laughed. “You’re right. The guide told me enough times to stop doing it or I’d pay the price. I think he just wanted an excuse to look at the women’s assets.”
“You’re probably right,” he said.
“If it was a woman guide I bet she’d be looking at your assets.”
“You think you’re so cute,” he said.
She turned her head side to side and her ponytail flipped with it. “I think I am.”
She was trying to be worthy to be on his arm.
His short hair and five o’clock shadow were both sexy and not always in line with being a doctor in her mind.
He didn’t have it often, just on the weekends it seemed. As if he was too lazy to shave when Theo was one of the least lazy men she knew.
“You are very cute,” he said.
“Then we agree,” she said.
