He grinned at her. "Here's a little secret, I'm sleeping with the manager, so we get the good stuff."

"You get the good stuff everywhere you go," Lexi said with a cocked eyebrow.

"Not like I do here. I get some special services while I'm here," he said as he leaned over and kissed her. How is it possible that after everything that’s happened over the past day and a half, a kiss and a smile still made her heart skip a beat?

"So, you're a tea drinker?" She asked, sipping her coffee.

"Yeah. I recorded my last album in London, and I have great appreciation for English breakfast tea. Unfortunately, finding a good cup over here isn't that easy. Sometimes I think about flying over there just for another cup."

"You would fly across the ocean for a cup of tea?"

"Well not just for a cup of tea, but yeah, why not?"

"Must be nice..." she said.

"It is. I know that I am at the peak of privilege, but I try not to let it go to my head," he said in a tone she hadn’t heard before.

"I didn't mean anything by it, I just can't fathom that," she said, watching him as he took a bite looking out the window. "Ya know when I first saw you, I wasn't sure what to think. Then all the stuff with your manager and the NDA, I thought you were this out of touch spoiled rock star. But now I don't think that at all."

He looked at her, emotion dancing behind his eyes and she wanted to know what he was thinking, because right now she had no clue.

"What do you think of me now?" He asked with a look that pinned her in place.

"I think there’s more to you than what everyone sees. I see a person who cares deeply about his fans and the people around him. I see a selfless person who gives up things he wants because he worries his life will cause others pain. I see a person who has so much love to give but doesn't have a place for that to go so he spends it on his fans, on his work, on his family, on spoiling random women," she said with a wink, "but he doesn't prioritize his own happiness."

He looked at her for a long moment, his eyes welling up with tears. He blinked them away, but she saw them. She saw him.

"Do you want to know what I see when I look at you?" he asked.

Did she want to know? She didn’t feel like she knew the answer herself anymore.

"I see someone who cares about those around her and works her ass off without taking any time for herself. I see someone who put herself on the back burner for so long that she has trouble separating and seeing her own wants and needs. I see someone with the weight of the world on her shoulders. And instead of letting all that turn her into a person full of resentment, I see someone who still chooses kindness and sees the best in people. I see you."

He leaned in and kissed her. How is it possible that someone she had known for about forty-eight hours could see into her soul this way? See that part she had hidden away to protect when life got too hard.

"You should come to London with me sometime. I would love to show it to you."

"London... Wow, I never thought going to London would be a possibility for me."

"Where have you traveled before?" he asked.

"Not far..." she said.

"How far?" he asked.

"Well, I’ve been to New York City a couple times on a class trip. My mom took us to Niagara Falls when I was younger, but that's it."

"You've never left New York State?" he asked.

"Nope. I would love to see more of the world, but I just never had the capacity."

"Come to the city with me," he blurted out.

"What?"

"Come to New York with me. I can spoil you much better in the city."

She narrowed her gaze. "What are you talking about? You were very clear on what you could offer. I have this one weekend with you. That doesn't include a trip to the city, I'm not some charity case."
