"Aye, I believe I read your cards a few months back at that music festival in New Mexico."

“Yes! I remember you. I’m still looking for my muse,” he said to her with a joking smile and a raised eyebrow.

“Well, why don’t you go get breakfast, maybe you’ll find her there. Have a nice day!”

And just like that she disappeared behind the door. There was something about this woman he couldn't quite put his finger on. She seemed to know things, and it was a bit unsettling.

He continued down the picturesque main street lined with charming stores. A few blocks down he could see a town square. He had been hoping to find a small town with the right vibe for a video for his single Home, and this place might be just what he’s been looking for.

His assistant came walking towards him looking angry. "Well, it looks like it is going to take a little while to get the bus running again. I am going to fire that driver. I have no clue how we ended up here away from everyone else."

"No need to fire him, let's just find out what happened. Should we go get some breakfast?"

"Where? We are in the middle of nowhere."

"Well, it looks like we are in the middle of a charming little town. I'm told there is a diner down a couple blocks. Let's go give it a shot," he said warmly.

"Fine, maybe they will have a meeting room so I can start trying to get this all sorted."

"How many small town diners have you been to, Jacinda?"

"Ummm... none."

"Let's go," he said as he pulled her and the rest of his team along. Sometimes he wished he didn't have to be such a spectacle, but that was just the way of things when you were as famous as he was. Being famous had its advantages, but it also meant having to travel with a crew when you're on the road.

The crew for his first album had been smaller; it was just his old manager, a few roadies and the band. He kind of missed the good old days. He missed his old manager, and the ease of life back then. But then he would think of his fans. The Liam James culture was one of joy and acceptance. He worked to create community in all of his shows that celebrated living one’s own truth out loud with joy. That is how he used to live his life, but lately things had changed for him. He hadn’t written anything in well over a year, ever since everything went terribly wrong right after his first tour ended. The label had killed the scandal, but there had been a cost. The more control they took over his image, the more he felt lost in it.

As they came into the diner, Liam could already feel all eyes on him. He was familiar with small towns and how fast word got around. Not that he really minded.

He heard Jacinda ask for a meeting room and he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. She really was clueless about the way these places worked. She was a great manager but was born and raised in LA, so this was probably pretty foreign to her. Her father was a lawyer for Liam's label and that is how he ended up hiring her. She did a good job, and she was no nonsense, which Liam appreciated.

When they entered the diner, his eyes had immediately been pulled to this woman. She was sitting at a table by herself. She had shoulder-length blonde hair cut in a sensible bob. Her outfit was business casual, but he did take note of the cleavage peeking out due to her ample chest. Her most striking feature was her deep blue eyes. They looked like the kind of eyes that could cut through all the bullshit and see right down to a person's core.

Then this woman spoke and offered them a meeting room at her inn. His intrigue for this woman was growing by the minute. He introduced himself to her and she seemed flustered. He was used to that. Most people he met were flustered by him, it came with the territory. But he wasn’t used to feeling flustered as well. This woman with the most beautiful eyes had been drawing him in, it was like he felt a magnetic pull towards her.

After their brief exchange of pleasantries, she just stood up and left. She didn't pay or even take a bite of the tasty looking omelet she had ordered. While odd, he was used to people doing things like that around him. She must be a fan. That thought made him smile.

Beside the pull he felt to her and her striking eyes, there was something about her body that he just wanted to look at. She was short and round and looked so soft. He bet she would feel as good as the squishmallows he got from his younger fans. The way her very generous ass swayed as she dashed out of the diner pulled him up short.

He hadn’t felt this kind of instant attraction in a long time. Being an artist, getting swept away in emotions was just a part of it. But this was not an emotion that had stirred in him for a very long time. He was going to find some time before he slipped away to talk to her. Just talk to her. But his mind was definitely doing more than talking to her.

Lexi

The walk to the inn wasn’t long, but it was long enough to break the spell that guy she had been put under. She also made a mental note to call Mae later and apologize for leaving without paying. That had to be one of the weirdest reactions she had ever had to someone, and she didn't even know who he was. I mean she knew he was somebody, you kind of have to be to have an entourage like that, but she couldn't place him. She should text Poppy. This was information her sister-in-law would definitely either have or be dying to have.

When she pulled the door of the inn open, Nancy came barreling towards her. There was something comical about this woman in her late fifties with curly red hair piled on top of her head running to the door.

"Is it true?" she asked.

"Is what true?"

"Liam James! Is it true he’s in Mystic Falls?" asked Nancy with barely contained glee.

Lexi blinked for a moment before all the pieces clicked in her mind. “Yes! Liam James, he's a singer, right? I thought that he looked familiar.”

"Wait. You met him?" she asked with her jaw on the floor.
