He’s playing with us.
Ryan glares at me but continues. “I like lasagna. Killian is-” He grimaces again, cutting himself off.
“Something is wrong,” Anna says, moving closer.
Griffyn immediately grabs her around the waist, pulling her into his body. I’ve never seen him protective before. He’s normally the first to lean back and let us do the work, but he’s been so involved since Anna got here.
I eye him curiously before turning back to the threat here.
“Griffyn, make him talk,” Aksel demands.
I see him give Anna a slight squeeze before closing his eyes. I can feel his hormones flood the room even though they’re directed at Ryan. I ignore the scent of everyone’s arousal.
I get the pleasure of seeing a tent rise in Ryan’s pants as he stares hungrily at Anna. I want to rip his dick right off him.
“Tell us what you know about Killian,” Griffyn says smoothly, like a lover having pillow talk.
His face momentarily gains clarity before being sucked back under Griffyn’s power. Still, he says, “No.”
“I don’t think he can,” Anna rasps.
Griffyn drops his head down, running his nose against Anna’s neck. The scent of her arousal grows stronger, making a direct line for my cock. It’s my own personal aphrodisiac. Makes sense since she’s my mate.
I’m about to step towards them when Aksel clears his throat. “Enough. Focus.” His voice is strained.
“Why do you think that Anna?” Felix asks, moving closer to her and Griffyn.
He doesn’t have to hold back. He told Anna immediately who she was to him. At the time, I thought he was an idiot, but it’s clear now I’m the dumb one. They’re making progress in their relationship while Anna doesn’t even know I’m interested in her.
I can’t come clean now without her being furious. The more I get to know her, the more I know she’ll hate this deception.
“I think that’s why he was listing facts-”
“He was being a smart ass,” Aksel cuts in.
“Or was he showing us what happens when he tries to tell us,” she says.
I turn to look at him again. He’s dazed under Griffyn’s control. This right here is why the incubus is so lethal, he could get Ryan to do anything right now.
Except tell us about his brother.
“He’s under a spell,” I conclude.
“Seriously? How does one vampire have access to so much magic!” Felix says, throwing his hands up in the air.
Griffyn pulls his hormones back in, clearing the room. The haze recedes from Ryan’s eyes until he’s trying to assess the room.
“You did something to me,” he accuses.
Griffyn smirks. “I did.”
Anna steps up, breaking their stares. “Ryan, are you unable to tell us?”
His eyes widen before he opens his mouth and makes a choking sound. It sounds like he’s being strangled from the inside out.
“I think we can take that as a yes,” I say.
We all look around. What do we do with that?
