I press my hand to my heart. “I’m sorry Rion. We will get you out of here soon.”

“As sweet as this is, we have a stalker note to deal with,” Aksel interrupts.

“Are you saying you don’t recognize this at all?” Felix asks.

“No. I’m guessing you’re wondering if it’s from Killian. It’s not his style. If he knew you were here, he would come in and kill you all, not send notes,” Rion answers.

The unknown factor only grows with his words.

“Then who is this? Who else has an interest in Anna?” Griffyn asks.

I look around at all of them. Every single one of them is tense and Aksel is glaring at Rion like he can somehow blame him for this.

“It’s not him, Aksel, he was locked down here,” I say.

Aksel rolls his eyes. “You can’t think of anyone else that would be obsessed with you?”

“Most stalkers are someone the victim knows,” Blaze adds.

I rack my brain for anyone I could possibly know, but I’m barely in contact with people anymore. I only see these guys and on rare occasions Aly.

“Are you sure it’s not for one of you? I’m sure you have crazy exes out there,” Rion says.

“Pretty sure you’re the crazy ex in this room,” Aksel says.

I roll my eyes. “It’s for me, the first one showed up at my door before I lived with them. Before I knew them.”

“So, that means it couldn’t be one of our exes right? Cause I hate to admit it but I’ve dealt with some crazies before,” Griffyn says sheepishly.

I narrow my eyes on him. I don’t want to think about him with anyone else. Even if it was already obvious he had a history.

He smirks and wraps an arm around me. “You’re the only one I’ve ever been serious with, but I love seeing you jealous Vixen.”

“Cute,” Aksel says dryly.

“I don’t think it could be related to you guys. I got the first one before you stalked me to the bar. Oh, wait! Is it you?” I say, opening my mouth comically.

“Har, har. Very funny,” Griffyn says.

“Let’s send it in and run it for prints. I’m going to get surveillance on the outside of the house to catch them next time,” Aksel says. He stomps away after delivering his verdict.

Hopefully whoever this is just sticks to sending these notes.

Anna

The line rings almost to the end before Mike’s scratchy voice answers. “Hello.”

“Hi Mike, it’s Anna Willson.”

“Anna! How have you been since the incident?”

It feels like forever ago since I was hit at the bar.

“I’ve been fine, thanks, Mike. Listen, I have some bad news. I won’t be coming back for a while. I understand if that means you have to replace me, I just need some time off.”

There, nice and vague. He might think it’s because of the incident, I’d rather he didn’t but it’s a good reason so I can’t take it off the table.
