For the rest of the day, my family and my new club brothers celebrated.

It was a good day.

Of course, I was happy to see them all leave, but I knew they wouldn’t be far. Especially when Faith and Hope started talking about moving the farm closer to Lawton. When I told them they were fine where they were, my sisters pointed out that with the Lawton Farmer’s Market and the clubhouse both in Lawton, it made more sense to move closer.

Then Joan piped up and added that her job was also there.

While I hated the idea of leaving the farm in Wichita Falls, I knew they were right. Besides, the homes I began scouting for were mostly in Lawton, anyway.

As much as I loved my sisters, I flat out refused to live with them for the rest of my life.

That wasn’t happening.

Like. NEVER.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Shadow

“So, how’s the house hunting going?” Kansas asked, a few weeks later as I sat in church.

“It’s not,” I grumbled, as Whisper chuckled.

“What?” Kansas asked, looking between the two of us.

“Shadow’s butt hurt cause Joan wants to live close to the girls and refuses tell her no. All of them are looking at land closer to Lawton, which should make the grumpy bastard happy, but it’s not.”

“So, buy a house close to where the girls live so you can monitor them. Don’t see a problem with it,” Pence stated.

“The problem is this fucker,” I said, pointing at Whisper. “He is backing the girls with whatever they decide. He’s got them looking for some big ass monstrosity that will take bank to fix up, just so we can all live under one roof!”

“Like I said before, a man with a bevy of women in his life will never want for anything,” Whisper stated, with a smile.

“I want privacy!” I shouted. “There is none with them around. You try fucking your woman while living with four sisters, a sister-in-law and two nieces. Scratch that. You stay the fuck away from Faith. I mean it. No fucking anyone!”

The room erupted in laughter.

The club knew Whisper had been spending a lot of his free time out at the farm with Faith. While I was happy to see my sister come out of her shell, she wasn’t ready for any kind of relationship. Whisper had become a daily face in my family.

Along with Angel, who was treading close to his own demise. I caught that fucker kissing Hope the other day and came up with several ways to make his body disappear.

Fucker was lucky to be breathing.

“Well, at least the prospect is safe,” Widow chuckled.

“Think again,” I whispered.

When Nevil the Geek walked in the front door with my sister Charity a week after the hospital released Joan, he was damn lucky my woman was in my lap and kept me contained.

I still had plans to strangle him in his sleep.

“Shadow, you cannot kill the prospect.” Kansas grinned.

“He’s just a prospect. Accidents happen all the time.”

Kansas shook his head, then looked at Pence. “Do we have any actual business to talk about?”

“Just the upcoming baseball game this weekend.”
